I'll arrange for your regional customer service manager to reach out, Big Al XLT. PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. Leave the rest to me.

Dealer will not answer what was done this time differently then last time.

Dealer will not answer "What happens" if/when the message reappears....whats the next step?

Your dealer is not understanding the BMS reset that they are supposed to do via their Ford Scan Tool. There is a specific procedure to get that reset. Once you have them do that, your alternator shutoff procedure should work as Ford intended. The alternator is de-clutched when charging is not needed. It will kick back in to recharging the battery when it senses voltage needs increased.

well it appeared that the battery is now toast...1st battery....they replaced the battery...we will now see how it goes.
Ford has been in touch with the dealer re history and what has been done.
So far hats off to Ford for communicating and the great service from my local dealer.
Crossing fingers..if not I have an open case with Ford.ca...

    Hi Crystal,
My truck has about 81000. Miles on it. I purchased the platinum extended warranty from the dealership. They did a master reset and it was good for 1 day then the message appeared again.
The service department was horrible! My other issue is that I'm getting the timing chain slap and the dealership verified that it was making a noise. My experience was pretty bad with the service department, I had an appointment for 10 am on Thursday, dropped it off the day before. They didn't call me all day Thursday then Friday I had to call them 3 times before they got back to me on friday. When I asked if the the tbs for the chain slap would be covered by the extended warranty the service guy told me he sent the paperwork to verify that they would cover and he would get back to me on Monday. That's was a week and a half ago! And I still haven't heard back from them. Anyway you could help me would really be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Zach
