Did them on my f150 and Exp, it is a bit of a PITA due to the angle of the housing and it is messy.

This is the truth. I've had to do mine twice. Luckily I found out the concentrated coolant at the local dealership is cheaper than buying on Amazon by $12 dollars/gallon

I used the Prestone safe to add to any coolant from Wal Mart.

As much as it has been debated on the forum, both my current tuner and previous tuner (neither of which were Shawn) said to use the same coolant that was in my truck (Motorcraft Orange) unless I was planning on draining the whole system.

I called Reische back today, and am having one of the new prototype T-stats shipped out to me free of charge. Joel told me that it's built exactly like the oem and is better than what's being produced currently. It's so new that he didn't have any gaskets for them yet, but it's the same at the oem gasket which I still have and it's still in good shape so I'm sure it will be ok.

He asked me to provide any feedback to him as soon as I can so I will report back here and to him as soon as I get it installed.

The Motorcraft Orange is just Dex Cool, same as GM. I believe ford switched to dexcool around 2010. The Prestone all makes green, from what I heard, is dex cool without orange dye.

Ford Yellow or Gold was just Zerex g05, but that is not compatible with Dexcool.

I changed the tstat on my SHO and needed about .75 gal. I too noticed my temp gauge or rather bar drop while cruising. I also noticed that if I rev the engine in neutral and let off the throttle, the temp will drop momentarily. I haven't datalogged it yet since I'm still checking to see if there's air.

how sure are you that it is just dexcool? I ask because I have been told that this is not the case.
