SuperCrew how to ... fold the rear seat down.

Here is a video I found showing how to fold the rear seat down. Funny thing is I showed the guys at the dealership how to do this. They had no idea that the rear seat could be folded down. Just thought that some of you may not have known about this especially since the 'experts' that sell the trucks didn't.

Since the original video is no longer working the people who have never seen it will NEVER understand how 'cool' the guy doing that video was. LOL. Here is another video explaining it. It is not nearly as good as the original one but it does show how its done. When putting the seat back up I fold the bottom all the way up and let it down while holding a little pressure on the back rest. This guy is saying not to put the bottom all the way up. When you get it done you'll know which way works best for you.

OK so I had to get back there today because it is a perfect place to store this portable tire inflator Slime Power Sport 12 Volt Tire Inflator | Inflators| Northern Tool + Equipment .

So as I'm finagling the doohickey I say to myself before I put the seat back up I'll put a pull strap on it for easy operation. Well if anyone has done this they know that the little doohickey isn't the most accommodating of doohickeys to add a reliable pull strap onto. What I did was take a 5/16" die and threaded it which allowed me to put a ground terminal connector on it and crimp a length of wire with a loop in the end and secure it on the now 'threaded' doohickey with a nut.
The looped end of the wire sits out of sight behind the headrest. It is a little tricky using the die but I was able to start it by hand and carefully turn it with pliers as I kept it square with common sense movement, after a turn or so I switched to grip pliers and the rest of the way was rather easy.

I'm going to be building a killer stereo system in my truck and having access to the back wall gives a great spot for mounting components that would otherwise be under seats and possibly worse places.
