Ceramic coating does a great job for it's intentions. But know that due to the extreme heat cycles, the appearance WILL dull. But that doesn't mean it is ineffective.

Over here in the states, we don't expect a whole lot of benefit from ceramic Coating our turbos. But that's because we obviously don't have access to the same stuff our brothers on the other side of the pond do.

My Coated Manifolds did the same thing, but they still never rusted, so I assumed that it was still doing something.

Did you go through the "Curing" process once you fired up the truck?

    Cool video Mr. Nelson, thanks.

I couldn't care less what it looks like cosmetically, as long as its still holding in heat. From the pics it looks like a level change/ height difference, like maybe the whole layer of coating chipped or wore off.

I didn't do any kind of curing, not sure if the coating shop does it. I did 'cure' the heat shields and random pieces that I rattle-can coated. I'll have to check and see how they look.

Again if it protects against rust and is still holding in heat, then I'm a happy camper. But I don't feel very confident at this point, seems questionable.

They were coated by full race with their +2000 deg ceramic.

These engines produce insane temps at the turbine and the velocity mixed with the small turbine and how fast they spin the temps are hotter than something larger usually.

All ceramic coated turbine housings will look like this though no matter what the coating or turbo size. It’s going to dull by nature

Iiiinteresting. Thank you for the input. Would you agree that they're still holding in heat despite the dulling? Do peeps usually have to re-coat things every few years or something?
