Hooked it up to check WG pressure, and the lines wouldn't hold. I believe the fittings below are leaking. Everything up-stream held 20 psi, so the issue is not there. When hooked directly to the WG fittings it builds pressure with the squeeze, but immediately falls to 0psi. Same holds true for both sides. I believe I'll remove the wastegates, disassemble, drill and tap for 1/8" npt, and replace with the following style fittings (once I remember what brand I used previously)... https://www.amazon.com/Degree-Fittin...gateway&sr=8-3

    Found the fittings... https://www.amazon.com/Vibrant-Perfo...ateway&sr=8-19

But can I just hose clamp to that barb or do I need to use some of these things? Are these just dress up items, never seen them before? https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/103300/10002/-1

Hey, I had a leaking WG and it was due to me not having the cap clocked right AND the ring not tight enough. I had to tap on the cap with a chisel and very small hammer to snug it up enough.

Also, if you have the original GT WG’s, you can throw them on there and test.

I have a spare set of 5psi springs if you need them.

I'll probably remove the Turbo Smarts to drill and tap, so before I disassemble I'll check the cap and fittings more thoroughly. But now that you mention it, I might try again with a steady stream from the air compressor and some soapy water. I didn't think to check the cap itself. Could save me some trouble.

Also I have the stock WGs I might throw back on, depending on tuner preference. And I'll keep you in mind if I want to try 5#'ers, thank you again.

Yeah, once I realized what I had done, I felt like a dumbass. I was so careful putting them together because I didn’t want a spring to get out of it’s groove.

Interesting, but I would expect some air to come out around the shaft while the diaphragm was being pressurized. The air on the other side of the diaphragm needs to go somewhere.

Does the WG leakdown when you pump it up to 20psi?

I was questioning if this was normal behavior but I doubt it. These would start to leak as soon as there was 4-5psi of pressure. Couldn’t even get the arm to move before it would leak.

In contrast, I performed the same check on the stock waste gates. Stockers crack open at 5psi and fully open by 11psi. No leaks/ bleed down.

Currently have the stock WGs installed until I fix the TS’s. I left a voicemail for their tech support yesterday. I’ll try to call again and ask today.

Something is up if they aren't even moving before the pressure let's go.
