I use Sumas a place called "Ship Happens". Very convenient if you live in the Valley.

There are similar places similar in Blaine, but I don't use any personally. I am sure others will pipe up and recommend some, if you find Blaine more convenient.

If you live in the Okanagan, Ship Happens has a warehouse in Washington just south of Osoyoos as I recall. Google them and check them out.
I just ordered $3800 CDN worth of parts for my Scout. I Have 5 packages to pick up @$5 us each.

My invoices are in in $600 US value. We are camping for a few days in MI so I should be able to bring it all back with no issue.

Yah those places are great. I just don't go into the States. If I did I would set up a "ship happens" for sure. Plus I don't get enough stuff from our neighbors down south.

It's more of a, here and there, little things. Like the plugs.

A couple of years back I was BS' ing with a UPS driver and he agreed that their brokerage fee is a ripoff. He recommended one of the shipping setups just over the line.

As @winchested said, if you combine your trip to the US with a little R&R in the US, you can avoid a lot of taxes. May even pay for the trip in the US. And if you have a wife and some kids. (I bought 1 tire, my wife bought a tire, and so did each of my two kids ...) you can save even more ... and it's all legal (my favorite kind of deal).

But even if it is just for a small item (under $100), the savings over Canada (Canadian Ford Dealers want almost double the price you can get those plugs in the US at Rock Auto or a half dozen other places ... including Amazon.com) still can make it worth it. Especially if a trip to the US is not a long distance.

In my case, I am originally from Lower Mainland/Vancouver area, so I have a lot of family and friends to visit. So I just combine a trip to the US when I drop down to visit.

If I ever pop over the line I will grab a few and some gas. And R&R ?? Been awhile since that happened.

Plugs arrived yesterday. This weekend I will change them out. Noticed the one box I opened was gapped at .028". Going to set them at .026".

Changed the plugs today. Only 1 scraped knuckle so all in all a good change over.

The old ones had .029-.030 gaps. I thought they might be a bit wider.

    30,000 KMS on them.

Nope. Didn't even think of them. Am I correct to assume they are even a step colder than the 542's?

The ones in there were 527's.
    (CYFS-12Y-PCT)

And it is running great, but it was running great before. I have them set at .026"

EDIT: I did a tiny bit of digging and it is like you said. They are 2018 plugs. Seems like Ford has switched from the 527's to 550's as standard.
Not much info on them but they are cheaper. No heat range info that I could find in terms of comparing the 542's.

They are cheaper for sure.... and I think I read they are one step cooler, but I am not sure. I will look for the thread where I got the info from. My local auto store stocks them, so with them factory gaped at .28, the price and they come from the factory for the new eco's... seems like a win win to me.

I was just thinking about the 550's.

Remember that when Snakebitten was on the dyno with Matt, that he stopped the session because he still had the stock plugs in.
I would suspect they would have been the 550's. Matt said get the 542's in instead.

    Hmmm.

Keep in mind that the tune Matt had developed was based on first year Gen2 (2017) trucks. I think they have personal vehicles, in fact.

Point is, he may NOT have known that my truck had a different oem plug than previous year. But even so, it's the factory gap that robs some potential peak power at 19lbs boost. (Yaw call it spark blowout? Jerry thought he felt a little up on top when I was at Tifosi)

I still have the factory plugs in the barn back in Texas. I'll look to see what they are and their gap. When I get home. AFTER The annual Texas HEAT WAVE.
