Timbrens Installed

After my research between Timbrens, AAL, or AirBags I chose Timbrens. The major squat when I tow equipment is now gone. I have had air bags and AAL on past trucks, I am very pleased w/the Timbrens this time. I am also so impressed w/the EB every time I tow! It is the only way to get a new diesel truck without any diesel problems.:)

Install was pretty quick. About 30 minutes and very simple system. I like the timbrens for what I do. Sometimes I just need to go grab equipment and I don't worry about airing up air bags. The truck just sagged so much w/no help and now it is great. Plus the load feels lighter w/o the suspension loaded down so bad. I am usually driving totally unloaded so the timbrens are not even a factor most of the time. They are just there when I need them w/o any maintenance or worry.

Those of you who have added auxiliary suspension "help", have you thought about the added tongue weight when that load becomes a lateral load while turning or switching lanes? The suspension has to control the load laterally as well. Just wondering if I should be concerned. I plan on upgrading my trailer setup with a heavier unit (7500-8000#)

As long as you stay within your trucks payload it will handle fine.

Just make sure you have the correct Timbren SES for what you are trying to do. I had Timbren FRTT1502D (7,000lb) that I installed on my truck. They were just too stiff for the travel trailer or driving around unloaded comfortably.

How much gap do you have between the timbren and the axle? I just put them on and have 1 3/8 gap. If I used the spacer there would have not been the minimum 1/2 inch. I suspect the difference is the bed liner and tonneau cover are about 120 lbs which is causing the suspension to squat a bit. I am concerned that I might have too much of a gap by the time I use the WDH it might bring it up. I have yet to try it since the snow is finally melting where I am in NY.

Mine was right at 1/2" with the winter sandbags and closer to 1" without.
