Your tow rating is 7,700 lbs.

So maybe I am crazy. Although I admit I never included the Raptor in any of my claims. And I wouldn't have since it's not exactly the right F150 for towing.

    Maybe 3 oem Radiators is

    1 NA V6
    2 Raptor
    3 ALL others

If so, it'd actually make sense

Mishimoto states in that thread that the max-tow 3.5 has the same radiator as the raptor. But that doesn’t really matter for the OP

One of the things on the lift of upgrades from my link is high output cooling fans as well.

Ooooo. That's something I sure never compared. Cooling fans!

But it seems like if the fans were different this forum would have discussed that for sure. All the overheating tow threads would be barking to upgrade to the Raptor fans.

Wait, maybe I have heard that before?

I gotta let it go. Lol

    New 2.7 owner

The tow ratings and set ups are all over the place in the 2016 literature. I was convinced when I bought my truck that I was good to 7200 lbs. (supercrew 2wd, 2.7, 53a, 3.31)-axle is the limiting factor for my truck. The previous post with the chart lists me at 7,600lbs.

I believe that with my tow package I have the trans cooler (6R80 grille area mounted), the hitch and wiring, front roll bar, and upgraded cooling fans. (Can’t remember where I read about the fans but it mentioned all radiators were the same except Raptor)

I should be good for occasional towing at 7K lbs. However, Ford specs are all over the place when I started reading about my truck after I purchased. I should have done that BEFORE purchasing. I had no idea about the payload package but I certainly would’ve searched for that option in hindsight.

My truck is a capable tow rig and I’m not complaining, except for the confusing literature from Henry.

I’m anxiously awaiting the Mishimoto radiator for our trucks. I will do that cooling upgrade as soon as it’s available.

I'm slowly learning about tow ratings, GVWR, etc. My window sticker says Elec 10-speed auto w/Tow Mo. GVWR package 6360#, and Trailer Tow Package. What's Tow Mo?
Chart says 7700# towing capacity. Somewhere I read having 1710# Max payload.

Howya figger? Lower rated picture is the towing guide for first gen 2.7s, higher rated is the towing guide for 2nd gens. I have a few screenshots somewhere that also denote the differences between different tow packages, which could be used to physically look at what your truck has and figure it out. However, you can tell from the window sticker what tow package you have also.

THAT makes total sense to me.

Has nothing to do with cooling packages or gear ratios or transmission or fans.....

It's almost like saying if you buy ANY F150 Truck, you can tow 5000#

It's a truck. Not a pretend truck. It can pull 5000lbs down the road if you mount the ball on it.

By the way, when I was just a pup, bumper mounted balls on old man trucks were common. So were chains holding the tailgate.

    Hi,

My source was the 2019 Ford F-150 Trailer Towing Guide, page 6, under "Required Equipment". My first F-150 (2016 XLT Supercab 2.7 eco) had the Option 53B "Tow Hitch". The new one (2019 STX Supercrew 2.7 eco) has the Option 53A "Trailer Tow Package". The specific differences seem to be that I now have an auxillary trans cooler and a heavier duty front stabilizer bar. It appears that all 2019s with 53A or 53B now have the auxillary trans cooler, which is a good thing!
