I have always had a 5ver in the past. They tow so well. I'd be willing to go over payload a bit within reason if I could find a 5ver that is close vs fighting sway with a bumper pull camper.

The only reason for me to go bumper pull would be so that I could put a golf cart or ATV in the bed, but then there I would go being way over payload and rear axle ratings so it's sort of a moot thing to consider.

Thanks Tanker, sorry, haven't been on in a while. it's the Cougar 25RES, with the Andersen Ultimate Hitch, only done short runs with it so far but it handles really well, truck is stock except for Airbags and Powerstops, have another month long trip planned in Sept, hope to put on some Bilsteins in the rear and swap out the standard mirrors for some Syppo 8 pin tow mirrors.

2013 Truck with 2005 Weekend Warrior "Superlite" toyhauler, 23ft box. Claimed dry weight is around 5,500 lb. I have yet to weigh it.

Stock rear springs, tows like a dream with std weight dist bars so I'm not doing anything for now. Power is plenty, just likes to run hot on the big hills.

No worries Mutley, I ended up picking up a '17 26RLS and love it. Pulls great as you said. I have the Bilsteins front and rear along with the airbags and add a leafs and it makes a huge difference. No squat and much more control.

    Camp well my friend!
