I read somewhere that driving in sport/tow haul modes negate this start stop thing, if I had a 2016 + after test driving one I would never drive not in sport mode anyway, and if it does negate that feature fantastic

All good points. But Is there a oil preluber for startup lubrication ( many more startups). Doesn't most engine wear come at start. Or am I still stuck in my old ways of tinking ?

The oil really doesn't have much time to 'drain down' I'd think. I don't think this technology is for me.
Living down here on the surface of the sun, I need the damned AC going non-stop.

My first contact with this feature was in a BMW 3 or 4 years ago. Early on, apparently many of the BMW owners have complained about...

I like having it when I am stopped at stoplights or in construction since the wait can be a couple to a few minutes long. What I would like to see is a way to change the default status so I could set Autostart to only turn on when I want it to and to be able to set the delay time before the engine shuts off. Both of these would allow for better flexibility needed in the real world.
So back in 2012, the factory gave BMW dealers the ability to activate the system's "Last User Mode", which essentially reverses the process - where the mode is disabled unless physically turned on each time.

I also wonder if there's a way to disable it through a set of procedures, similar to turning off your seatbelt alarm.

Nope they won't tell us if there is. I have been asking hoping and waiting for a fix behinds buying a tuner that will permantly disable unless I turn it on.

I have a 2016 F150 Sport 4X4 with the auto start stop feature. I have only had this truck for a couple of weeks and it has about 1,200 miles on it. I noticed that it idles rough. The tach fluctuates about 150 - 200 RPMs; between 700 and 500 RPMs.. The truck even seems to vibrate too. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this something I have to look forward to? Also there have been a few instances when the traffic has accelerated before the engine can restart. There was a noticeable hesitation as it restarted itself. Should I take this back to Ford?
I haven't had this truck very long. I took delivery on June 9, 2016 and drove it to St. Louis on June 16. I set the cruise to the posted speed limits. I got between 20 and 21 MPG. I'm getting 19.8 in the city. I like that. My 2013 3.5 EcoBoost got 22-24 Highway MPG and 16-17 City MPG. I'm wondering if this is a problem. Any feedback will greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    STLN8IV.

    Oh the HORROR!

I really hate my hardly noticeable, gas saving, fully turn offable with a button 24 inches from my face feature that I have been burdened with!

First, there is an on/off switch.

Second, tuners can already disable it. So everybody can quit whining!

I actually asked for mine to be put back into service after I first received my tunes.
