2012 Platinum with 180,XXX miles on it, it had 130,XXX when I bought it.
In the almost 2 years I've owned it:
A/C control module stuck on defrost (replaced entire a/c module in dash)
    Oxygen Sensor failed (replaced)
LF wheel hub vacuum?? failed (replaced wheel hub)
RR wheel cylinder leaked (replaced wheel cylinder)
Back up camera quit working, haven't replaced yet.
All normal maintenance done as required. I had full service records from the selling dealer when I bought it.

*Random rattle at start up that's been there for over a year.

At least a few folks here have success stories. The truck was great until about 50K when the engine became suspect. The other issues were more of an annoyance and they were seemingly fixed well. Its frustrating that an engine with 50K has to be stripped down is supposedly fixed and the problem returns. I don't tow and I haul mainly garden stuff 2-3 times a year,
    compost manure etc,
and the giant pumpkins I grow that are 1500-2K#.

If teh V8 is more reliable I think id be fine with it.

Mine has been so good that I’ve never even took the engine cover off yet. 48k on odometer.

Well, from everything I have read. The 2018 V8's are different than the 2011-2017 V8's and the new motors like to eat oil.

I have a 2013 with 63,000. Bad HPFP around 20,000. Bad lead frame not long after. Had a catch can on for 50,000 miles and took it off thinking I was going to trade it in but did not.

I've had a bad multi-switch and my in tank fuel pump had issues but I replaced both and have not had a problem with either since.

Luck of the draw. It's a crap shoot.

Absolutely don't go with a 2018+ F150 5.0 if you're looking for reliability, it's not going so go so far.

I feel ya though, my old 2013 3.5 ecoboost was a POS, my 2017 2.7 was great but only got to put about 17,500 miles on it because it was a lease to get me out of that old 2013.
I now have a 2019 f150 3.5 and only have 575 miles but so far so good lol
Other than the thumping sound thats coming from the engine or transmission area at low RPMs light throttle... Same sound my old 2013 3.5 had

2014 45k, zero issues. Intercooler and catchcan will ensure your eco runs perfect, along with normal maintenance.

v8's have problems, like the fuse that can fail and leave you stranded unless you mod it so it doesn't.

Also, OP your issues are not mechanical that are going to leave you stranded with exception of the rear end. You make it sound liek dealer broke something...no idea what a snap reverse is.

Mine had a few issues when I got it. I fixed it myself and didn't let the dealership touch it. I also would never get rid of mine for a V8. Some have issues. You fix them with common sense, patience, and a little green. Maybe you go look at the 2.7's like has been mentioned above, maybe you go with a V8.

Purrs like a kitten! It's called maintenence. This shouldn't surprise people.

well that is what they told me. The snap on reverse was a well documented issue that some thought was the slip yolk but wasn't. There was a TSB that put a spacer in the rear diff and adjusted the pinion for this. When I picked it up after the rebuild the tech and service advisor told me it was the result of the TSB not being done correctly and something in the diff was overtightened....Just what I was told

Just turned 30,000 on my 14 , only been to dealer for master cylinder recall. i change plugs every 10,000 and oil every 2500 swap air filters at oil change also. Runs really strong , i run it very hard couple times a week but mostly putt back and forth to work at the speed limit . I am starting to have issue with rear camera. So far been a good truck .

I've only had my '18 2.7 for a little less than a year, but its doing well. I've had some minor issues/annoyances along the way, but it happens.
