@NorthsideFord The one you listed was for the offset inlet? Is that the one that you used or was it the the center in/out which is the 12579 I am running.

Yes, I used the 12589, and retained the 3" over axle factory piece. It is a 3" in/out and center/offset, fits perfectly and entire 3" exhaust system cost me a total of 200$.

I have 3" Livernois downpipes as well and I like the sound.

The 12579 is 3" in/out as well but it is, center/center. Meaning the inlet and outlet are both in center of the muffler. I wanted to retain and use the 3" over the axle mandrel bent piece, so I just cut it off right at the edge of factory muffler, and used a 12589 because the factory is center/offset.

Yeah I went the same route just the 12579 which is 3” center in/out. I had the exhaust shop weld in 3” straight with flange from DP to muffler then retained the 3” over axle section. I’m at around $550 for my complete turbo back exhaust (Downpipe included). I’ve been running MAK catless downpipes for 70,000 miles now with stock catback, res delete/stock muffler, and now this Magnaflow. The Magnaflow is by far my favorite sound after spending time with the various setups. My biggest complaint with stock catback and DPs was the buzzing and raspiness you get at WOT especially in the higher rpms. The Magnaflow eliminated this entirely without the need to add an aftermarket resonator which is a big plus. This is definitely your best bang for you buck if you can’t justify spending $700 on a catback exhaust that is purely for sound.

Those 700$ systems don't sound much if any different, just better quality 3" pipe in the deleted section and over the axle. But to me I could replace that 3" pipe 5x for the cost they want for the full systems. I have 3" downpipes with race cats, and the exhaust explained above, I am from the turbos back into the whole system for around $750, only difference is the AR downpipes with cats are more expensive than the O/R Mak. Both excellent products though.

    Axle dumped exhaust

This is what my stock exhaust looked like. Remember that my truck is an 11-14 body style so the exhaust might be slightly different. To me it looked like a center in/out would allow the pipes to remain in the factory location compared to offsetting it on one side. That’s what ultimately led me to purchasing the 12579. Any pics of your stock muffler?

    Axle dumped exhaust

Good to know, a 12579 is direct fit for 11-14 and 12589 direct fit for the 15+ trucks. I believe that @bespurcell is also running the 12579 Magnaflow on his 11-14 truck with stock downpipes.

Yes I am running the 12579 and love the way it sounds. Deep and mellow at all throttle openings.

The mufflers are the same with the in/out orientation being the only difference. It should give the same sound, just depends which fits your application.
