I've got a 14 model with the 3.5 and 6 speed transmission, it came with a 3.31 rear end and I have no complaints on it.

This thread is for someone who likely wants to tow heavy. The 3.31 is rated at 8k... From 11 thru 14.

The 2014 F 150 145' wheelbase, 4wd 3.5 Ecoboost 3.31 rear end is rated for 9400 and handles it like a champ, google the towing specs.

This load is 8500 lbs give or take, no power issues whatsoever.

This load with both of my horses is just shy of 6000, disregard how the trailer is sitting as I have since adjusted the height and the distribution bars but it pulls like a dream. Even with the wind drag the transmission is not searching for a gear and the engine is not straining. The 3.31 rear end ratio does a great job in hill country for this trailer.
A guy down the road traded an F250 with a V10 on the same truck I have and his three horse gooseneck with living quarters ties perfectly fine behind it as well.

I have an 18 with 3:55 no max tow just regular towing package. Side note on the gearing my 10 speed with 3:55 is at about 82mph at 2k rpm in 10th. I drive a 17 2.7 6 speed 3:31 for work everyday that almost exactly matches speed at 2k rpm in 6th. Way lower down low and about the same up top is a win win for me when towing. I think it’s a perfect gear set for this truck.
