I haven't run it out either. With no cans.

The points here being simply (for me anyway) it's nice having an 800 mile range, or when towing almost a 400 mile range. Resulting in fewer stops at a gas station. I hate stopping.

I'm usually 400-500 on the 23. My old diesel had a 36 gallon tank and I loved it.

Removed the brush guard before it goes to the Body Shop on Wednesday. It's getting new powder coat after being sand blasted.

In @winchested defense, the 2011-14 have a 26 gallon tank (standard).

    Well me running.

Now I'm upset they did away with that. Lol

That's about 70 more miles. One more day on a tank.

I drove 3200+km in 3 days never once worried about running out of fuel (carried one 5 gallon just in case and never used it.)

Always had ample time to fill up between 1/2 and 1/4 tank. This is towing with the 26g and only getting 10 mpg on the way back.
Also, I figure if I'm gonna stop to pour gas from a can, I figure I might as well stop and fill it up. Being stuck where I can't find gas has never been a problem for me, personally.
