    Launching in 4h???

I'm new to 4x4's and I have a question. Today, I launched in 4H, on the street, to see how well the truck would take off and I stayed in it to about 70. I now know I shouldn't have done that. My question is....did I damage anything by doing so??? Needless to say, I won't be doing that again but now I'm concerned. I initially thought it was OK to do that in HIGH but I'm hearing NOT

I launch in 4hi at the track and don't switch out til I cross the traps around 100. Shifting out in 2nd or 3rd doesn't do anything if your foot is on the floor. Some have argued otherwise but who knows. You didn't hurt anything.

THANKS GUYS! Feel better now lol....especially since I know now that you run it down the track like that! I got worried after I read the owners manual lol....I knew that I shouldn't have taken that book out!

Well I've found 3 people now that have switched out of 4wd under a load, all 3 were platinums and my 12 lariat would do it too. They have the same 4wd system. There would be more if some would try it, but it has to be the auto system. The fx4's and xlt's won't do it. You still don't believe my video of doing it do you jowee. That's not a 4wd scratch.
On another note I've done 130 in 4wd in Mexico

Mine scratches 4x4. I'll try switching to 2wd next time I'm playing around lol. I see to do it all the time manually in my old diesel. It's been said that just because it says shift in progress doesn't mean it is in 2wd. I'll try it immediately after the shift to 2nd and see what happens.

Yours will do it, I have faith, I can't wait Til you try it and it works.
Mine won't scratch in 4x4 in any tune I have not even SSI (lol). Yeah in that video I'm switching and it's not doing nothing but saying it is. In my 12 you could feel it disengage. This fx4 won't even shift out if 4wd under a light load. Drives me crazy.
On another note if it works and you go to the track and launch in 4wd and shift out in to 2wd, could you imagine what will happen. Could be some serious good trap speeds

Just because the dash says it switched back to 2wd doesn't mean it physically disengaged.

Mine doesn't disengage until I get off the go button, and let the drive line unload.
