Rear differential fluid math not adding up

I just installed a B&M rear differential cover. The manual for our truck states there is 5.5 pints of fluid in there. B&M says their cover adds 1/2 a qt. Thatís a total of 6 pints or 3 quarts. Iíve put 7 qts in and there is no sign of it being near the fill plug. ???????

You’ve put quarts in the differential? I find that almost unbelievable. Did you mean 7 pints?
