Hi All,

We just got back from our trip to the UP and it was great!
The EcoBeast performed flawlessly for just under 1200 miles of heavy towing. We loaded the trailer with provisions and clothes for 9 days. I am guessing we were right around 8800-9000 lbs behind the bumper. We had about 200lbs of gear in the bed, and we had 2 adults and 4 kids in the cab.
The drive up through WI and across the UP to the Soo was perfect towing conditions. No wind, no rain, about 72 degrees. The trip back was another story. 17-20 mph steady x-winds gusting to 30-35. The EB took it all in stride and did everything I asked of it. We managed 10.7 mpg average for the entire trip. I am extremely pleased with this truck and the performance.

We stopped for a few hours of shut eye on the way up. Kewadin Casino in Manistique, MI has a free campground.

Backing in. It was a tight spot, and it didn't help that my Dad and Wife were giving me conflicting hand signals while spotting me. Lol

The new hitch worked well!
My wife actually mentioned driving so it might be accomplishing what it was purchased for. Lol

This area is my favorite place I have ever been. I lived up there for 2.5 years in the mid 90s.

Summer is beautiful but short, winter is rough.

Holy cow! that tt looks like a converted ocean liner! I don't think I will worry anymore about how much trailer my EB is going to handle! (Cool pics of the lake too!)

Our trailer is a big one. 36' long and just shy of 10' tall. The solaire is an ultra lite and weighs less than 7k dry and less than 700 tongue dry. Fully loaded and camp ready its just shy of 9k and close to 1k on the tongue.

She pulls like a dream except in heavy cross winds but still never feels unsafe.

I am absolutely pleased with the EcoBeast, and think it can hang with any 3/4 ton and some older 1 tons.
