2.7L Downpipes - Actual gains???

So after a brief departure into the diesel world, I'm back in an eco. This time a 2.7l that I told myself would be staying stock. HA! That's only lasted 4 or 5 months.
I've been looking at the Hooker Blackheart Downpipes as I can get them locally but Hooker only claims 9.5HP and 13.x tq max gains.
Are the dp's on the 2.7l not as restrictive as the 3.5? Are there more gains to be had if tuned? Should I just not waste my time/money?
Thanks!

Spec, i would just have a pair welded in vs buying a new downpipe.
that would be my pan if i could find a dp in the 450 range. they have us nailed on the cost of these. Its far to simple of a design to be 700-1000 for a y pipe

That was my original plan is to have one welded in, but I’m afraid the cat wouldn’t be as effective being downstream of the exhaust. I have the solo resonated version. Spd has their catted dp for around $525. I’ve never had a vehicle stink as bad from going catless like this one does.

My guess is those may be gains without a tune. I can’t comment for sure since I don’t own one though

The thing is the turbos on these trucks don’t have like 3” turbines, so I can see that the stock downpipes are overly restrictive

If it smells that bad, it probably due to an overly rich mixture. especially during warm up. When i had the Chevy the tuners had to adjust the warm up for catless due to the oem cat warm up strategy. these trucks probably are not seeing the cat o2 get warm enough so they fatten the mixture to try and heat a non existing cat.
