9.75 rear end noise when turning the wheel left going forward and backward. The noise is like a groaning humming noise. I just replaced the clutches in the rear and the carrier housing bearings. Took truck for test drive and still there. The gears looked fine to me nothing chewed up or scratched. I did the axle seals but left the axle bearings alone it looked fine to me maybe it wasn’t? And suggestions?

I see no one has responded, and not sure if I can help cause I just bought an ecoboost but it’s my first ford lol. However, I have lots of experience with mechanics in general.
Things I would check:
The other side wheel bearings.
Are the front hubs engaging?
U joints
Spider gears and shims
Correct oil? Friction modifier?
Pinion bearings
Back lash and pattern of course
Brake caliper or wheel cylinder
E brake
Axle tube for straightness
Drive shaft
You said you replaced the clutches
I’ve always checked them using a torque wrench on the wheel with the other wheel on the ground, break away is what you’re checking.
All I got, sometimes just talking about it will key your mind into checking something.
Cheers
