2011 F150 3.5 EB Vacuum pump coming on far too often

Does anyone know if there is a sensor in the pump itself for Low vacuum which tells it to turn on or if it is the sensor at the Check valve on the Booster which tells the pump to turn on. ( I pulled that and cleaned with sensor cleaner with no change to the way pump operates)

The pump isn't overly noisy like the other 2 that failed but it just seems to be turning on and off when it does not need to. No noticeable vacuum leaks.

Ill have to get torque pro hooked up next time I'm driving it to monitor the Vacuum to see if a loss of vacuum correlates with it turning on which I don't think is the situation.

I'm not finding a lack of braking.

IWE system permanently removed, solenoid unplugged at booster.

Why did the other 2 fail? Seems like there is some issue yet to be fixed?
There was a time when I noticed mine came on and off on a seemingly constant loop cycle... I remember thinking it did not seem right, but reading your post, I realize at some point it quit doing that (or I quit noticing it!)

Not much help, but I am curious if you find an actual problem and solution.

While I dont know exactly what or how, it has to be triggered by a vacuum sensor somewhere.

It was a known recall and failure point from the start. Back in 11/12 hence why Ford moved to a cam driven mechanical pump.

So, I'm going to replace this Booster Check valve sensor first as it's only $40 - DL3Z-2365-A

Did you het the updated hoses and check valves during either of the previous replacements?
I’m curious if they ever updated your ABS module. There was supposed to be an update along with the recall, but many dealers didn’t do it.

I only just went in and did the downshift Recall like 4 or 5 months ago. Happened a couple times and had enough. Was procrastinating having to pay 5 Star to re-do my tunes.

But I'm sure if there were any outstanding things available on the OEM tune they would have updated it then.

Just an update for everyone.

Replacing the booster check valve/ vac sensor seems to have cured the problem it's $50 cdn.

Cheap solution. Don't pay for a $600 to $1k vac pump before you try this.

I also capped the line that feeds the front 4x4 IWE solenoid and accumulator. I deleted this junk that fails non stop on most trucks from 09+.

Nice! That is always so nice (but so rare) when the cheaper solution works!

I'm less familiar, was thinking I need to investigate the vacuum pump, because my brake pedal feel is terribly inconsistent. Some days downright scary, others very confidence inspiring. This is new over the last 2 months.

Did you have any of those symptoms?

I don't really understand the vacuum system, perhaps this sensor is worth a try?

It's cheap and worth a shot, even cheaper in the US.

😳😳😳😳

Please don't make us worry about you.
I don't know exactly what I would do first, or in what order, but.....

Inspect-clean-lube all 4 corners.
Flush/bleed system. Probably a good thing to do regardless?

If none of that reveals the issue, consider master cylinder and or vacuum pump/vacuum leak?

Thank you. Probably a good order of operations. I gave the pads a looksee and there's tons of pad left, no visible rotor issues or pulsing in the pedal.

I probably should yank them and lube anyway, and bleed the whole system. Does seem like air.
