First time poster but I have used these forms lots of times for good information. I'm hoping somebody can help me out with my problem for my 2012 F150 EcoBoost with the 3.5 litre engine. Noticed that the truck had been shifting funny the odd time between 3 + 4 a few weeks back. Took it into a shop and he suggested that it needed an update on the transmission from Ford.
I got that done and the problem has only gotten worse. Shifting is erratic between all gears. Doesn't seem to do it while in manual mode just seem a little better. While coasting my RPMs will flutter between 1200 and 1500 and the truck will surge. While coming to a stop on downshifts I can also feel that same surge. Ships are sometimes delayed a bit or make a clunk noise and feel a little bit hard. I took it into a transmission shop and that Tech took it for drive with me hooked up to a scanner and of course it didn't do it for him. Truck ran smooth because that's my luck. Problem is slowly been getting worse and of course everybody keeps telling me they can't do anything because it's not showing any codes.
I did drop the pan last Sunday and changed the oil and filter on the trans and nothing really bad in the pan didn't find any chunks just a little bit of carbon buildup on the magnet.
Plugs have been done about 40k ago. No tune on this truck it’s stock.
Any help would be great I'm really stuck.
I had to borrow a buddies truck to do our camping trip tomorrow because quite honestly I don't trust this truck to get me there in one piece. I’m leaving it with a mechanic for the week to see if he can figure out something but I’m hoping someone else on here may have run into this issue
Cheers
