Hello fellow members! I am new here so please be gentle. I have purchased an Edge Insight CS to monitor the different temps, pressures etc. in my truck. I can see this is going to be a nice tool -once I learn what exactly all the normal operating parameters are for my truck. Can anyone point me to a location that will tell me what the "safe" range of these temps and pressures etc. should be? It is nice seeing the numbers, but I do not know if everything is normal, or if my truck is about to have a meltdown. I have looked around the Edge website, checked the manual that came with it, and sent an email to them that I have not had a response to as of yet. I also did a search on this site, but may not have put in the correct keywords. Thanks in advance!

I know alotnof people fret about trans temp. Normal seems to be 195 towing ive seen 215 but wouldnt start to really worry unless it stayed at 230+ for long periods of time. Water temps should be similar. I think factory they run a 195 deg thermostat. And the fans probably don't kick on until over 200. Higher Water temps are bad for performance but good for mpg.

I have checked but all I can find is capacities etc. I can't find what the Engine Coolant Temp range is for example. Now, that does not mean that I did not overlook the info.........I also have tried searching it on the net but must not be typing in the correct key words as surely the info. is out there to be had.

Thank you for the response. The product has a lot of info. that I probably have no business worrying about, but it would be nice to know what range is normal for them. I am pretty sure I can set alerts for them if they go over a certain temp / pressure, but I would not know what to set them at until I know what the normal ranges should be. Just more eye candy is all...I do love the toys!
