Finally got the budget to upgrade my lights. Budget <$1250

As I am completely new to this, I'm torn between the million options out there.
Of course, I'm going to source it through a forum sponsor (Raptor Retrofit) and not eBay, but I'm unsure of what to get.

I have a screw sterling gray with no other body mods (chrome package), I just don't want the new HID housing to look out of place.
I bought the OEM Raptor/FX smoked tail lights and really don't want anymore chrome on my truck than there already is.

I've been on the website, looked at all the outputs and projects, but most are Raptors of course.
Should I get the Fx-R, the EVO because of its lower grown projection.
OEM? I like these, but perhaps a 50W ballast for driving through back Florida roads at night.

Already consulting with Dawson, just looking input from those who have already invested.

Fxr, 5000k 35w. This were built by another forum member that wanted super wide, and didn't care about highs...

Fxr low

After driving with both setups, I rather the evo's 100%

I will be getting the mini D2S stage 3 kit. Mainly because it's plug and play, no cutting/modding required. Also for the $315, if I hate them I'm not in the hole $2000 on headlights that suck. just my .02

Tyler installed those in his lights. Extremely easy to install, and not bad output.

better then OEM HIDs? I'm hoping for just better then Halogen at least.

Gotta tear the light apart for these?
yup, have to open them up, install the projector then glue them back together.

I'll say the low beams are equivalent to the OEM HIDs, but the OEMs have better highs.

Tell your company that there's an oil rig here on Lake Erie you need to reprogram.
Lmfao, I literally learned how to pull apart heads from YouTube. It's really easy.

damn hardly sounds worth it.... :(
It's made for people who want a decent upgrade and easy installation. My favorite projectors by far are the evo's, but that's mainly because I've never played with ls460's yet...

Here is some info on the EvoX 50w upgrade -

- 1200 lumen brighter, per light
- Much wider low beam then oem projector
- More concentrated high beams for increased distance
- 5500K bulb temp (pure white) OEM is 4150K
- We can perform the upgrade to brand new lights or sent on lights

I try not to down play the 35w OEM setup, its a huge improvement from halogen lights. If you do a lot of city driving the OEM setup is more than adequate. If you do a lot of driving on dark back roads the 50w upgrade is well worth it. Here are some output shots from the oem and EvoX projectors.

OEM LOW

EvoX LOW

OEM HIGH

EvoX HIGH

Thanks all, Dawson e-mailed me this morning.

Think I'm going with the 2014 OEM black housing with the 50W Evo upgrade.

Now I'll just need to recoup some $$ selling the OEM halogens!
Any takers?!?!

I'm running the Evo's in mine, well worth it!

For the moment I have Osram CBI bulbs being pushed by mori 35w ballasts, but I think I need to move to 55w.

Raptor retro isn't kidding about that high beam either.... It's intense.
