I bought this https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&k...cmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026231&hvtargid=kwd-3588025425&ref=pd_sl_9giegw8ai3_e and deleted the resonator. I had a muffler shop install a 3" flange at the y pipe, replace the stock 2.5" flex with 3" and run all 3" pipe. Basically every piece of pipe and fitting from the Y pipe to the back of the muffler is still there as it was from the factory just in 3". I just deleted the resonator. It isn't much louder than stock.
Did the exact same thing except deleted the muffler and kept the resonator contrary to most things I have read. I absolutely love the sound. I highly recommend playing around with combinations of some 3" and the stock components. I have tried offroad downpipes mated to the stock catback. I've tried offroad downpipes mated to full 3" all the way back deleting muffler and res (way too obnoxious for me). So I put the muffler back on. Wasn't satisfied so I pulled it back off and put only the resonator on. I think it's perfect for what I was after.

Also, to the OP I have the exact same 3-4 upshift whine/slip noise you have. I haven't heard of others having this problem before could you by chance point me in the right direction to research that TSB? Or tell me what kind of additive to try? Thanks!

Totally forgot to post some pics, ha.

All well, I'll post some up when they are installed.

Just ordered up a set of RCI skid plates in aluminum. They'll just be raw as I didn't want to pony up the cash for a coating that will be scrapped off anyway.

Kicking around the idea of a winch again. I want to add one, but think it wouldn't be used very much. I think I need to get the Exhaust sorted out first, still thinking on that...

Not much else I want to do other than minor cosmetic mods, so it will be starting to get back into save mode. Then I'll decide on a payment free truck with a RMB motor or a new Raptor. Fun times!

So sorry! I missed your question on the 3-4 shifting noise. You just need to head to your dealer and buy the "XL-16". the TSB is 14-0100. It's the same additive they used for a few different tranny issues.

Here is a link to the TSB
https://ford.oemdtc.com/TSB/14-0100.pdf

I had to add the full amount of the syringe to stop mine from making the noise. I was told to start with 10ml, drive it for a week and then see if you need more.

Could you enlighten @Blown F-150 of the part number for that drain valve. I tried looking it up through them and it says "Sorry, it seems like Ford used a yellow proprietary plug on this one :(. You'll most likely only be able to use that plug." which is incorrect because I have changed the oil multiple times and its a 15mm bolt

Edit: Think I found it by searching 2014 instead of 2016 http://www.fumotooildrainvalve.com/f107sx.html

Yeah, they changed the plug when they went to the plastic pans in the 15+ Ecos. I prefer the Fumoto as it directs the flow straight down and you can throw a hose on it if you like. I now have limited space with the skid plate, so this made sense. On a side note, I was worried about getting at the front filter with the skid plate, but can reach it no problem.

I’ll shoot you a PM with the details. Coil-overs were through EBay and I got them so cheap that the shipping and brokerage fees were palatable. The plates were pricey though and since they shipped UPS, I had my bottle of lube ready for when the big brown truck showed up. Their brokerage costs are stupid expensive.

I’m shipping the cat-back to a mail service on the US side and will pick up this upcoming week. Saved over $300 CDN in shipping and brokerage doing it this way.

Yea but they didn't go to plastic on the 15+ eco's because my brother owns a 2015 3.5 ecoboost, and I own a 2016 3.5 ecoboost and both are metal pans and bolt. Maybe they did in the 2.7? I don't know, but I know for fact they didn't on the 3.5's.

They did on the 2.7’s only.

I’m not sure about the gen2 3.5’s

Full Race Cat-back has landed state-side. I will go and pick it up this weekend. I took Monday off so I may get a chance to install then.

Fingers crossed, I don't have to swap out the muffler for a Magnaflow fatty.

FR cat back is on. As usual, very nicely put together with quality pieces. Installed very easy. Tip is nicely tucked and shouldn’t impede while messing off-road.
I’ll be interested in reading your thoughts on the way it sounds. I’ve been looking at these for a while.

I’ll get some sound clips and not just a start up. I’m very happy with the sound and glad I got the resonator. Very mellow when cruising around and has a decent bark when winding it up. I think it would be the perfect sound level with the stock DP’s. Great whistle with the FR DPs.
