The grills are made from ABS plastic and then are chrome plated or painted. Seeing how ABS plastic is a petroleum based plastic, it takes some dedicated prep work to get anything to stick to it properly. With that being said, it's bound to happen on any part that is mass produced. I would think it is a fairly uncommon occurrence, but still totally possible. Hopefully the dealership fixes you up with no more issues. ;)
