You'd probably get a pretty penny for your truck on trade in, and then turn around and pay sticker for a new one. Plus those 5.3 are doodoo
Why not take it back and have them correct the issue?
I'm not sure on aftermarket converters for the 6spd, they're usually pretty good.

Only 18k for trade in.
Wow. That's crap.. I've seen my truck within 10k miles of mine for $22k, one as high as $29k but it was a platinum and I've got double the miles you do.
Probably better to have them fix it again, I can confirm new parts sometimes are faulty out of the box.

I probably will. First thing they said when they called me back was did i ever change the plugs. Seriously doubt the plugs went bad after 4500 miles from torque converter replacement. I'm waiting until its gets more noticeable. I fear if i bring it in now, they will keep it a week, charge me a diag fee and say they don't see a problem. Now that its under warranty, i fear they will find every other thing other than the torque converter to be a problem. Will see how long it takes for them to even call me back. I called on Thursday. So far no call back.
Good plan.
I mean, the plugs are cheap, worth a shot? Not sure how long ago they were done though.

My plan was to change them at 100k
Just a suggestion, some users reported misfires pre 50k. I went 90kish and mine didn't look horrible, but some have reported misfires a lot sooner. I'm not sure what the difference is or if it will fix what you gave going on. That many miles on factory plugs, may have some validity to their inquiry.

I may change them out just to make sure then. Has anyone done this themselves? Do i need to spray a lube to loosen them up or will they come out with no issues?
Your boots may come out a bit difficult, suction and all.

Some say to do it after it's been warmed up. You shouldn't need to put any penetrating oil on the plugs.. The other piece of advice is to be careful with the coil clips, they can be brittle and usually a little hook or small screwdriver can pop the clips off.
