2017 3.5 Econoost. The AC compressor wasn’t coming on. I brought it to the dealership and they tell me that the actual AC compressor isn’t making compression. How would they know it’s bad if it wasn’t even coming on? I’m dubious about all this... 3 years old sounds way too early for a compressor to fail. Furthermore - there’s a technical service bulletin out about a whiney sound coming from these compressors. Anwyays- none of this is covered under warranty and they want $1000 from me. I’m annoyed. Any thoughts?

Well I agree that if it's not turning on that's strange.
They may have charged/ checked the charge before they inspected it and could have manually powered the compressor to verify operation.
