Send your stock turbos to Full-Race and they send you back Precision Turbo and Engine Frankin turbos (Compressor wheel upgraded).

From Precision Turbos web site: it looks like Precision just makes the wheels and they sub the Rebuild to Walsh Motorsports

Costing $999 per turbo after your core is received (pricing from walsh's site not full-race's)

They are different turbos, if you look at full races site it says coming soon.

Your link on FR wesbite says core charge, that means they're modifying the stock turbo. I would rather do the BW brand new still.

I agree, An OEM turbo like the BW upgrades is way better IMO.

But there are no boltup oem upgrades at this time for the 2017+.

I believe that is why Full-race and others are having to go the frankin turbo route.

Oh, now you've done it. You actually posted a link with verifiable evidence that Full-Race is working with Precision. Now, I'm going to have to cancel my subscription to rbrown-weekly, and burn all of my Full-Race stuff. Oh the humanity of it all.
On a more serious note, it makes sense they'd work with one of the most successful turbo manufacturers out there. Precision has joined forces with Turbonetics under a parent company(whose name escapes me). I got a good 15min discussion in from one of Precision's folks at SEMA 2017.
There are plans for a bolt-on kit for the Raptor, but nothing for the Gen1 folks.
I'm like you. I have a hard time spending money on a modified stock turbo.

The Precisions turbo option is far from a frankin turbo. If it were not a good option, full race would almost 100% not be selling them. I’m sure they have them listed on their site because they are a quality OEM like bolt on turbo. If they were a Frankenstein turbo, Like I said Full Race would likely not not offer them. They are one of the very few companies that have standards. They have far to good a reputation across a multi platform portfolio to risk what they have built themselves on for selling a couple turbos. My opinion is mine alone and this what I believe.

If I had to guess these upgraded stock location turbo upgrades are only using the turbine and compressor housings. Just a guess I don’t have the facts on that but that’s my guess.

For anyone wanting to not tune into my daily “blog” please do not. If for such an asinine reason as full race is selling precision turbos. For anyone who would think so absurdly, I’m sure it’s all over your head anyhow.

I can tell you this. The majority of companies in the game are selling parts with bad data, cheap manufacturing, and subpar fabrication.
Full Race is one of the very few that does not follow suite. I promise you this, they wouldn’t be selling the precision turbos if they didn’t fit the bill.

Full race will release the EFR kit, and the nasty G-Series turbo kit for gen2. G-Series are crazy nice for the gen 2 with the additional room to the side of the motor and the reverse rotation availability. If anyone has looked at the maps on the g-series they are more than impressive and will spool like a monster.

Add to that the results GH is getting with Gen2 Raptor turbos and that's 3 or more choices. (if the GT's show up for gen2)

The words "Frankin turbo" refer to someone Changing an OEM turbo to there own creation ie a wheel change from what it was made with.

A Frankin turbo can be done Correctly from a company that has the Tools and know how.

I have run a Frankin turbo in the past and not had the best luck, could have been a lot of reasons (probably a sh!t company doing a bad rebuild)

In my mind it doesn't get any better then an OEM turbo for OEM reliabilty.... (just my opinion)

As the gen 2's don't have an OEM replacement option yet, but has a market for upgrading turbos, Frankin turbos are it (good and bad)

Gearhead made a cool set that made killer power on a raptor and looks good so far. (I'm sure they would fit on a regular gen 2)

Time will tell on how long any of these rebuilt turbos will last.

If Precision turbo/Walsh motorsports/Wabtec Corporation rebuilds their turbos with the same OEM process like Borg Warner or Garrett makes OEM turbos then I'm almost 100% sure their Frankin turbos will be just fine.

Lastly I posted a link to full races site, so all the members wanting to upgrade their turbos on where to go to get them.

Why are the G series so much better for a Gen 2 vs EFR for a Gen 1?

The reverse rotation allows the g series to sit tight to sides of the motor close to stock location. The new MarM alloy is super nice it appears and the maps and specs look nuts!!

They will spool super quick.
For a gen1 I will take EFR’s all day for my own reasons.

Gen2 for sure G-Series.
The EFR turbines being made of gamma Ti usually allows them to spool several hundred rpm quicker than some compatible size turbos with a heavier inconel turbine wheel. The titanium aluminide is just a hair heavier than the compressor wheel on the efrs. So with the specs on the g-series I would think their something like the EFR turbines with some mix flow and spool nuts

The packaging of the g-series from being reverse rotation is nice because top mounts are sexy and fit big turbos, but you can eliminate a lot of the heat generated in the engine bay from the turbos moving them down near stock location. Keeping the turbos low and tight while still being afforded the ability to run tubular exhaust manifolds would be really ideal performance wise IMO.
