They don’t? That’s bizarre… well, the drivers side I did first and I put the filter back in, the passenger side I couldn’t fit the filter back in because the A/C line was in the way so I left it out. If you change your oil ever 3-5k you’ll be fine. It’s just to keep junk from getting into the turbo, but I think it’s fine.

We need some photos of the project!
My truck did not have the gaskets in between the turbos and downpipes from the factory either! What other parts am I missing?!?

He's got the driver's side OEM turbo off, getting the new one prepped to go in. I'm trying not to pester him, and I'm working.. so you won't get much more than a few pics of in process.

Haha, yeah mine looked orange too, I used a lot of octane booster for a while, but then I quit.

Is he gonna drive it or do you get to be the one to drive it first?

Turbos are in. Honestly they don’t sound that much louder than the stock ones, but I just did a quick "around the block" test drive.

I need to get the updated tune in before I really step on it. Now.. what do I do with these?

Wait, they don’t sound any louder? Do you have an open style intake?

If you had an open style intake on the stock turbos, going from that to the stage 3s probably didn’t sound like much of a difference. But then again, I haven’t ran the stage 3s. I was running the stock intake on the stock turbos for a long time and then I went to the stage 2s and an open filter intake. I was amazed at how much louder they are. Not everybody cares but I sure noticed. I could even hear the difference between the stage 2s and the stage 4s. Not a huge difference, but I could hear it. The stage 4s have like a low pitched whine when the engine rpm is low and when you slowly give it gas the whine increases until it’s a whistle and then the spooling whistle sound just goes crazy after that.

we need to see some videos after you get your revision. Sorry for the long schpeel

Keep them! I would keep those just in case you need them for some reason. Eventually I will buy a set of new ones just to keep on hand.

Awesome, I’ve done that before. Are you making firewood or?

How are the turbos doing?
I've driven all of 4 miles on the turbos so far, waiting on tunes!

Cleaning up from a windstorm, all the wood will get tossed in the swamp or a burn pile.

Still working on tuning, but I got out for a datalog drive last night. The truck hauls! I’m working with TLTech on an E50 tune, still waiting on BoostKing to deliver my base 91 octane tune..

getting an overboost code when I really push it, hoping that can get figured out.

did a commute this morning, and the turbo’s really make a lot more noise at highway speed acceleration. Thats the only time I’ve noticed the sound level being louder than the stock turbos.

Heck yeah! I’m glad you like them! How does the spool feel versus stock? Do they spool up slower?

Overboost is because boost is heading out of bounds and your trucks boost limit holds it back by throwing that code.

I bet you’re gonna have more power than I will because I am so high elevation.

It’s hard to say for sure, but I’d say it definitely spools slower than stock. Its worth it!

Yeah. My turbos spool slower than stock as well, but I thought the stage 3s would spool faster since that’s what they were made for. Who knows, maybe it’s faster than mine, but still slower than stock. It takes like 3000rpm and up for my turbos to be in full boost.

My badgeking order came in today. I’m pretty happy with the fender badges. Now I guess i should wash the truck to get a nice install :-/

changed my mind on the ovals. Anyone want them?(They're spoken for!) They are overlays that should fit over the grille and tailgate badges

Are those fender badges like a sticker? No offense but they look sorta cheesy. Why not plasti dip your stock ones? It would look much better. Do what you want of course, I’m not judging.

All I’m saying, is I replaced my stock ones with ones that were identical to stock, but I wish I had just plasti dipped the stock ones because when I removed the stock ones I made a scratch and a chip or two.
