Thats not what I mean. I am saying, if you didnt have the trade, would it still have been 16k off?
That would be interesting to know. With $16,000 off I'd think they would be losing money otherwise. I got my 19 for just over $11,000 off the sticker and I saw all the paperwork, invoices, hold back and everything, they were barely making 500 bucks
( sales manager is a good friend of mine)

But Bravo if that's the case!

Should throw one of them canned tunes on just to see if there's a significant difference.

I will throw the canned tune in after some additional seat time with this tune.....
I'm definitely interested in hearing your thoughts between the two

^ completely agree and you all know I am a huge GH supporter, my GH 2015 tune was amazing and fared well at the track..... But maybe my expectations where more (higher) or maybe the 19's are tuned that well from the factory, but there wasn't that much of a difference in "seat of my pants" feeling over when the truck was running the stock tune vs. the GH tune when the foot was in it...

More seat time, better fuel and the track..... And I will go from there
Even my adaptive tune running 87 in my tank on my 19 was a pretty big noticeable difference.

Looking forward to hearing how it is after some miles with 91

Sport mode on them 5 star tunes with the 10 is a whole new animal.
Just make sure to log it and send in for revision, they keep the base tune somewhat mild, as you probably already know.

Did you go with the Stage 3 back up warranty? You're really making me want to pull the trigger. I've never had a tune on anything. When you flash it back to factory tune is the dealer able to tell that someone has been in there, or does it look completely stock? ... I'm not sure if I'm asking that the right way. Sorry I dont mean to Hijac your post OP, I'm just so curious on tuning even more so now.
I know your question wasn't directed towards me but this is my take on it from 6 + years of owning and running tunes on this particular platform.

I'll never tell someone that a tune will or will not void your warranty, or that Ford can or cannot see it at dealership level. I will say there have been so many people who have been running Tunes who have had major warranty work done it's not even funny, but there are steps you need to take if and when that ever happens.

I never had the warranty with my 2013 3.5 or my 2017 2.7 but I decided to go ahead and get it for my 2019 3.5 mainly just for peace of mind. We all know these trucks fail completely stock and we also all know some dealerships will use any excuse they can to get out of warranty work.

One thing is sure, the GH tune gets better MPG's
Yeah them 5 Star performance tunes like to drink some fuel. Their perf/tow tunes are better in that regards but it's hard for me to leave the straight performance tune life.

With my E30 tune I'm at about 13 mpg right now
Lol
But that's pretty much all city stop and go and a good half dozen 0-80 WOT's a day if not more.
If I drive like a normal person I can still get 17ish on this e30, mostly city.

I just received my AWE exhaust. I don’t know that I’ll have the time to put it in this weekend, but I plan to make a video and share some pics for the members

So, after my towing trip I decided to load the GH Adaptive Performance Tune and run it for awhile and give it a second chance.

I have to eat a little crow, as I am finding the tune to be pretty darn good....

For one, just filled up and I am seeing 1.8 mpg better over the 5* tune.

The transmission, I do believe is better overall than the 5* (Its pretty smooth and under wot, it doesn't hold up in a couple gears Like the 5*)

The Sport mode, I thought at first the 5* was stronger off the line, but I am not so sure...... I can say if you go WOT with the 5* tune when you hit 2nd the tires chirp and in 3rd it hits hard and so forth. With the GH, WOT hit Chirps hard in 2nd and chirps in 3rd and crisp in every gear after.

I will have to get it to the track to really tell.

In fairness, the 5* data log should be done in a week or two and then i'll load it at the track when I run the GH tune.

So far, I am eating crow from the 1st time I loaded the GH....
Definitely let 5-star know your thoughts, the more detailed feedback you give them in the email with your logs the better. 5 star is for sure a little more aggressive out the gate as far as shifting and whatnot, but you can have them dial it back or add more or whatever you want.
They will make it as wild or as mild as you like, shifting, power...

"With the GH, WOT hit Chirps hard in 2nd and chirps in 3rd and crisp in every gear after"
^^^That's exactly how my 5-star is, but it wasn't like that with the first tune they sent me, I feel like they expect their customers to datalog at least once whereas Gearhead it seems what you get is what you get, which is a great tune but it's what you get and it caters to the masses.

How many revisions on that 5 star 91 performance tune?
I personally know three different guys running same tune , one 2017 one 2018 and one 19 (all 3.5’s) trucks and all in the low 13’s..but all a good 4-6 revisions in.

And 14 on gh? Damn, isn’t that close to stock 1/4 mile time? I can’t remember what stock is, maybe 15?

He's about 33"? So not bad. But AT's and wheel combo are probably a little bit more burdensome.

Regardless, this is why I avoid "the numbers".

You were so happy with that gorgeous truck until you MEASURED something. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Your truck hauls butt! I don't care what anyone says.

Lol this is so very true!!

Yeah I forgot about the bigger tires and wheels.
I was going to say just yesterday someone posted on 5 Star community page with a 2019 running a 93 performance tune, third revision, 12.55 second quarter mile. But, stock wheels and tires

4th revision, and I can not see the 91 octane having a 1 sec difference
Yeah that’s kinda what I’m saying. Talked to a couple other buddies last night, both are deep low 13’s on their 91 perf, 2nd gens

Man I hope you’re not using the X4. More and more I’m seeing constant complaints about issues with 2018+ trucks
