I am hoping Boostking is on vacation, sent my log in on the 9th, still nothing,,,, No complaining, just anxious...LolI did get some good logs today to send to Brett from the latest tune revision..... Seems pretty strong, so I hope the logs are good and indicate we can get some more out of it while maintaining within Brett's comfort zone!
Lol, I know right, we talked about that today over a zoom call to set up a new config file....You know he should have gotten your approval before doing something for the family.![]()
That is awesome dude. I hope to someday do the same. You know the feeling when you get that stop light line up you have been itching for!!!!
Late night, rolling into a stop light and see the all mighty TRX........ Slide the truck to 4wd and hit traction control off... Now how do I get his attention..... Well...... decided to bump the front forward a couple times. hoping he understand street lingo ...... Well, I get the crazy growl of the TRX Exhaust, up down up down...... He be ready
Light goes green, and I hear my tires and his screaming against the pavement,,,,,,, let me tell you, you could not get any more even (side to side) then this one,,,,,,, I had my drivers side window cracked and the sound of that supercharger whine is a beautiful thing.... between that and his exhaust, you could not hear my truck at all, but I tell you what, he knew I was there and there to stay..... Our side mirrors stayed across from each other until 100mph and the street layout made us lift, pretty much at the same time....... Although I didn't get a wave or honk, I am sure that driver was either WTH was that or damn, that was a fast ford F150,,,
You will be fine, the TRX is all over the place with a consistent stock track time .... I have seen them at the local track and watched plenty of videos, they do from high 12's to low 12's depending on the truck, the weather and driver...... For my elevation.... which is pretty my, seal level,That is awesome dude. I hope to someday do the same.
Wow. What were all your times? 60ft, 1/8 mile?Good to hear you went through the full process and had good experience with BK! I have too.
He just called it "done" on my 9th revision, saying there isn't much more that can be done for a Gen 1 at my elevation on 91. He said he could lift other nanies and get more, but then it would be bad news if I ever went close to sea level. Never crested that 40 lbs/min mark, but it feels like it drives well. A solid Mid-14 truck.
I was pleasantly surprised at his custoemr service and turnaround times.
I was unpleasantly surprised at how little headroom there is on a Gen 1 up here.
Not his issue - I have now run 3 tunes now and they all felt similar, but BK's is much more refined and maybe a bit more power.
Between my experience and @mass-hole's accounts of self-tuning his Gen 1 at similar elevation, I think this is to be expected.
Yup. I can touch 40 lbs/min if I try to incinerate my turbos and its like 10 degrees outside. Otherwise im tapped out around 38 lbs. This is at 6500'.Good to hear you went through the full process and had good experience with BK! I have too.

Ugh, bringing back memories of when I ran bags. I can say I don't miss running bags one bit since running then Roadmaster active suspension.Went outside to lower the airbag psi back to 10 after the trip towing the RV and noticed one of the bags was zero...... so apparently I have a leak to trace down now.... been wanting to re-run the line and/or replace..... wasn't as clean as I wanted it the 1st time upon install,,, just hope its a hose, hose end at the fitting, the valve stem, or fitting and not the air bag itself!!!
The trip was a blast and great weather made it better...... I am starting to hear you on the bags..... and I wish I had a set of the roadmasters, should have bought them when I had the chance, might be spending $$ for a set...... I need to confirm they will install with the firestone airbags in place, if so I may pull the trigger? Do you know if they will?Ugh, bringing back memories of when I ran bags. Camping trip looked like it was a blast!
Well, things usually don't go this easy for me but as I was about to tackle the air bag issues, and re-run all new tubing I loaded the air bags to 50 and then dropped my trailer on the hitch and to my surprise the soapy solution revealed the valve steam as the culprit. So a quick change and filled back to 50psi and no leak.. Let it set for and hour, went back and still at 50psi.....Went outside to lower the airbag psi back to 10 after the trip towing the RV and noticed one of the bags was zero...... so apparently I have a leak to trace down now.... been wanting to re-run the line and/or replace..... wasn't as clean as I wanted it the 1st time upon install,,, just hope its a hose, hose end at the fitting, the valve stem, or fitting and not the air bag itself!!!
