Out with Ford Performance M-12405-35T plugs and in with the NGK 95605 plugs,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Well not so fast.... Working with Torrie and requesting logs, I sent him new ones, he emailed and said what has changed, there is a significant increase in KR. He asked did I recently change fuel, I told him no but I did change plugs... I advised from what plugs to what plugs from and he asked me log previous revisions, (2) two of them and send. I did log the two previous revisions, and sent to him, Same fuel in the tank similar ambient temps thankfully just NGK Plugs ,,,,,,and the findings, each revision I logged with running the new NGK plugs, we are experiencing 2-4 positive KR increase on the big end of each 1/4 run and WOT throttle pulls....

Now to totally eliminate the plugs, I have ordered a new set of the Ford Plugs, parked the truck to make sure the remaining fuel level stays and will swap plugs and do the logs over again for each of the revisions....

Now, for all of you, what are your thoughts?

Here’s my thoughts. Stick with Factory spec spark plugs or whatever you had before. I’m doing big power and I’ve been using Motorcraft plugs that are spec’d for my engine. Never seen a single bit of knock and never had a misfire.

Well, that's pretty darn scientific.
I'm on the edge of my seat for Part 2!

Update, I posted this in the other thread too

After two revisions and logs, here we go!

Based on the last first log and the two logs after with these plugs, it was relayed that my truck, with these plugs likes more timing and less boost... and a couple other minor tweaks and we have a great looking log and it didn't subtracted above 1 degree at anytime,,, the best 1/4 mile 12.42!

Not sure if it is the exact specifics, but that is what was relayed to me!

1 Inch shorter, but 6.5lbs lighter per wheel, 26lbs all the way around!! Does the 1 inch shorter hurt, and I assume the weight reduction for each corner is a benefit,

Need all of your comments please

Make sure you reload your tunes and select the correct new tire diameter or everything will be screwed up.

As long as you didn’t manually input values ( tire revs/mile) when loading the tune - you actually don’t need to reload the tune. You can adjust the tire size in the BdyCM with ForScan. That will then stay whenever you switch tunes.

17+ can use values up to 2678mm. 11-16 are stuck with a slimmer range which usually requires flashing a tune. Code U0422 will show up if it’s outside the desired range.

I owe Boostking the opportunity since I was able to fix my fuel pressure issue and for the entire time he was tuning the truck, it was an issue we were not aware of

Update with calibrated power,,,,, tunes are the updated version and all my runs to include the 12,54 run was with the street ethanol flex tune on E40.... I still have not ran their dedicated flex ethanol race tune,,,,,,, Spoke to a calibrated power rep and I will lean towards their dedicated race tune to do some logs and draggy runs,,,,,,, After BK logging is completed

Ok, here is where I am at with my tuning pursuits, tuning options and vehicle direction,

I have decided on Unleashed (Torrie) on E50 with the SCT X4 as he has got me beyond my goal and expectations with how the truck sits with nods and tire size, His customer service and turn around is absolutely fantastic, same day, off hours weekends,,,,, just crazy,,, His product delivered = Power, drivability, responsiveness,,, 12.42 in the 1/4 mile!! My goal was 12.50 or better!! The logs are great, knock, everything.....

Calibrated Power, the EZ Lynk 2.0 platform is the best experience IMO for platform and their ethanol flex tunes are great for adaptive tuning and netted a 12.54 in the 1/4 mile and is fantastic drivability wise, and right on the heels of the dedicated E50 tune from Unleashed, .Great customer service during business hours, always answers the phone and responds to emails... Totally awesome . Calibrated power will be my other option and switch often between unleased and theirs/ I will use calibrated powers Tow tune as well for all towing unless I tow in the stock form,,,,,,,Their Logs look great as well with the right E Blend. I still have to run and log their dedicated race tune, sitting on my EZ Lynjk, wonder what that time will be!!!!!!!

BoostKingg, great customer service, a little longer between revisions, emails and communications However, took time to teamview but despite this good customer service. His product, E50 tune with SCT X4 is good, I think He is a tuner that does have his own style, but from a conservative standpoint, no complaints at all with his product, just never got to the goal, fell a tad short mid 12.60's in the 1/4 mile but very happy with him.... His logs are good for knock, ect,,,,,, Just won't be my go to one, two driving tune.

I have achieved my goal for a 12.50 or better daily driver as it sits right now with mods and tire size. I will not be trying any other tuner, 5 star, MPT, Livernois,,,,,, I have my dedicated two!!!

Up next..... for the truck

1) street tires, 305/55r20 Toyo Proxes,,,,, (I still have 17" stockers to try at the track!!!) both sets should net a lower 1.4 mile time than my current set!!!
2) upgraded turbos before end of 2023,,,,,

Need to do brakes soon, diff and transfer case fluids......

Just continued maintenance on the truck and drive it now with occasional appearance additions or audio!!

Yes I have the itch for a complete system,,,,,, everything!!! To include some power behind the audio!!! Have a retired audio shop owner close by who does work, custom stuff to basic from his house, retired travel fund when he wants extra cash, may have to take him up on that,,,,, he did my buddies boat and another friends car,,,,,, amazing
