Need some help

I swapped back tot he ford gt plugs for data log purposes and such,,,,,, and already ran it hard a couple of times,,,,,

So, today just out decided to do a couple test for the best rpm to leave at for my 0-60 and the 1st launch at 2500 rom, here is what happened

Launch great, no tire spin or hope and I fell the truck lose power surge so I get out of it ..... see the check engine light

P0302 - Cylinder 2 mis fire detected
P0A5B - Generator current sensor circuit low

pulled to a parking lot, cleared the codes then after starting the truck up the wrench on the dash comes on,,, ok, I pull those codes,

P0A5B -Again
P068A - ECM/PCM Relay De-Energized - Performance too Early

Ok, again clear the codes and head for home,,,,

Seems to be driving fine after 5 miles or so so I decide to give it some throttle and it feels like its jerking under throttle,,,,,,, not check engine light came on,

So I need to ask, where do I start for each code? Disclaimer, stock coils, 64k miles and original battery

I guess I will pull the number 2 plug and coil, check for anything and maybe swap coils? After that, please steer me for all other things to look at for each code

Does it almost feel like transmission intermediately slipping went on the throttle and feeling that jerking? Like power is shutting off and turning back on quickly? If so that's exactly what I experience when the motorcraft plugs start crapping out.

Man, I'm not sure about that other code though.

I would probably start exactly with what you are planning to do as far as troubleshooting.

Yes, that is how it feels and these are the new set of motorcrafts I had, the GT, same as the ones I took out before I swapped to the ngk , threw in to test the theory I brought up with the ngk. And I had no issue, even yesterdays romp with the golf r.... But today, boosted launch and threw the P0302 and all the rest happened... then on the drive home, the symptoms you describe, Is it possible a plug gave up the ghost that fast,,,,,, Maybe a coil? Do you think it can be the ecoboost IC weep hole issue, with this I have the aftermarket whipple cooler!

I will pull the plug, and for the sake of it, put the ngk back in,,,,, test drive and see what happens,

P068A I read an article and seen a video from Bama and they claim this code does show up often when flashing tunes,,,,

P0A5B I am thinking the battery or the circuit sensor on the battery terminal?

Will be interesting to see when you pull the plug for inspection.
Could have possibly got a hairline fracture in the porcelain at one point either removing or re-installing

Now that you mention it I believe I read the same about that one code at one point. Not sure on the other though

New set of plugs, and here is the mis fire for cylinder 2 ... less than 100 miles.... at least I believe the issue is this cracked plug,,,,, Tested the battery, it is a little weak so I am going to replace it anyways ,,,,,,,, its original... trucks a 19, but the battery serial indicates mid 2018.... So headed to grab a battery and will test drive after

So the NGK are back in and I think I will try to get these replaced as they came poorly shipped and I might have missed it during the install, but I looked them over pretty good... so much for the log and experiment for now between the two

That's exactly what the spark plug manufacturers always tried to tell us. I had the opportunity to visit 2 plug factories, Champion and Autolite. It was amazing how close one was to the other as to what was being said. Spark plugs have a simple job, the tip metals determine the plug's durability and the problem with making a good plug is the ceramic both in the density and in how it is attached to the metal portion.

Ok, here is where I am at with my tuning pursuits, tuning options and vehicle direction,

I have decided on Unleashed (Torrie) on E50 with the SCT X4 as he has got me beyond my goal and expectations with how the truck sits with nods and tire size, His customer service and turn around is absolutely fantastic, same day, off hours weekends,,,,, just crazy,,, His product delivered = Power, drivability, responsiveness,,, 12.42 in the 1/4 mile!! My goal was 12.50 or better!! The logs are great, knock, everything.....

Calibrated Power, the EZ Lynk 2.0 platform is the best experience IMO for platform and their ethanol flex tunes are great for adaptive tuning and netted a 12.54 in the 1/4 mile and is fantastic drivability wise, and right on the heels of the dedicated E50 tune from Unleashed, .Great customer service during business hours, always answers the phone and responds to emails... Totally awesome . Calibrated power will be my other option and switch often between unleased and theirs/ I will use calibrated powers Tow tune as well for all towing unless I tow in the stock form,,,,,,,Their Logs look great as well with the right E Blend. I still have to run and log their dedicated race tune, sitting on my EZ Lynjk, wonder what that time will be!!!!!!!

BoostKingg, great customer service, a little longer between revisions, emails and communications However, took time to teamview but despite this good customer service. His product, E50 tune with SCT X4 is good, I think He is a tuner that does have his own style, but from a conservative standpoint, no complaints at all with his product, just never got to the goal, fell a tad short mid 12.60's in the 1/4 mile but very happy with him.... His logs are good for knock, ect,,,,,, Just won't be my go to one, two driving tune.

I have achieved my goal for a 12.50 or better daily driver as it sits right now with mods and tire size. I will not be trying any other tuner, 5 star, MPT, Livernois,,,,,, I have my dedicated two!!!

Up next..... for the truck

1) street tires, 305/55r20 Toyo Proxes,,,,, (I still have 17" stockers to try at the track!!!) both sets should net a lower 1.4 mile time than my current set!!!
2) upgraded turbos before end of 2023,,,,,

Need to do brakes soon, diff and transfer case fluids......

Just continued maintenance on the truck and drive it now with occasional appearance additions or audio!!
I had to update:

Take a look as I edited BoostKing !!!

(Update 3/18/2023 Got a revision from Boostking, he did say we are nearing the tune/fuel capability for good tune but sent this revision,,,,,, Here is what it got me and the logs look good, sent to him to review ,,, time was a 4.23 0-60mph and 12.52 at 108.19, just might be a real second option, so now looks like 3 viable options at my finger tips!!)

Ive come to the conclusion those plugs are junk, same crack I've had on multiple now throughout a few different sets all with under 20k miles. Crazy.

The Ford performance plugs are simply outdated/overstock SP542 plugs. They have been superseded multiple times. That’s why I’d recommend the latest SP594.
Good to know, thanks!

I looked at the Performance GT plugs I pulled out the change before these when I installed the ngk and to my surprise there are two plugs with what I see small hairline cracks,,, trashed em now,,,,,

Ok, breaking it down like this for each of the 3 preferred tuners for me,,, with very very close results,,,,, each have their own good things about the drivability, TCM profile and idle,,,,, I like or prefer over the other....

Performance Review

Unleashed and Boostking on E50 and Calibrated on E40 because their suggestion is best acceleration on E40 for their Street Flex Ethanol adaptive tune. Best 0-60mph!!

Unleashed: The best time and love the responsiveness for the throttle in town and on the freeway,,,,, Idle, really smooth, I don't know its pretty close to my favorite,,,, and not because of the time!!!

BoostKing: Great drivability, pretty good responsiveness on the throttle, just need a tad more foot pressure on the pedal than Unleashed,, Idle is the smoothest of them all

Calibrated Power: Its a great tune and platform, love the 3 options I have on the EZ Lynk for ECM Profile,,,,, Running the Street Flex tune at E40,,,, It has really good acceleration responsiveness, pretty close to Unleashed,,,, tad better than BK,,,,, Idle is smooth ... Best S Mode of all 3,, And for me the EZ Lynk is the best platform, quick and easy way to log, right on the smart phone, super fast flash times between profiles and loaded with flex ethanol tunes, from tow, street and race to non ethanol tunes for the same,,,, I think I need to revisit calibrated powers tune for extensive driving,,,, I will start another post explaining why

Performance time for each tuner..(Disclaimer, the Calibrated Power time was at the track, the Unleashed & BoostKing per the Draggy)

Best 1/4 - 12.42 @ 109.41 E50 Unleashed - 12.52 @ 108.19 E50 BoostKing - 12.54 @108.03 Calibrated Power (Ez Lynk 2.0) E40 Adaptive Ethanol Flex Tune

Been meaning to update the spring mod and wastegate chatter during a cold start....
Automotive tire Motor vehicle Automotive design Bicycle part Rim

I verified the wastegate actuator do function, At start up you can see them cycle in and out,,,,,

Now, at start up without the springs I could hear the chatter very pronounced and if I reached in to apply pressure on the actuator, you can feel the chatter and sound would lesson

After the spring install the chatter is 85% quieter, especially at start up,,,,,, and at drive thru or against a wall, can't hear it over the rest of the engine idle,,, What an amazing difference in sound for a $3 dollar fix
