So question about OAR,,,,,,, The post I read about a member having oar issues before their cam phasers got replaced, has me wondering

Weird thing, the Boostking and Unleashed tune I seen .-96 for oar and then when I switched to the calibrated power it was reading .-54...... started getting nervous so I went back to BK and it has now settled for oar at .-86, but took awhile as it sst at .-72 for a while.... I am not sure calibrated has the oar set traditionally or if I got some bad fuel..... I switched from costco to chevron (company gas card) because I don't need to worry about paying for gas but I am thinking chevron might be an issue as costco turns over their gas holding tank content so fast,,,,,, Not the first time I have heard this about chevron too but my tank is full so I will need to run it down all the way and test the costco theory. I leave for Hawaii (Kauai) next Sunday for 10 days (anniversary) so I hope to report it before then, but if not it will be after.

I guess each tuner can set it to their liking and from what I understand the the OAR is mainly from the part throttle knock sensor and good tuners adjust it to work throughout the load range? Just wondering why the tunes are different in OAR readings.....
I better go check the station I get the E85 from too, maybe they have a bad Batch or very low E content happening,,,,

Thoughts welcomed please

Well, I think I have concluded I got a bad batch of fuel, at least the e85 I use to get my E50 mix or E40 depending on tunes,,,, The station with the e85 that has always tested at 83 -85 content actually was at 68, and I test the content every few tanks, just happened...... So dang, way off caused me to get off on my ratio..... we are back to above E40 and the OAR is -.96

Truck seems to be recovered from the bad fuel ....

Need to work on a warranty I think and then get to the track soon. Should have my summer tires installed in a couple of weeks when I return from Hawaii... Headed to island hope for our anniversary for the next 10 days starting tomorrow morning...!!!!

Well, after a some good time in calibrated powers tune and boostking, I am back in Torries unleashed tune..

A little nervous as this tune was in the truck when I had the cylinder miss and had to replace the coil and plugs... but let me say this, I now believe this tune is the smoothest, crisped and snappiest tune... just simply drives so darn nice....... Calibrated and boostkings, tunes are great in their respective ways and over all a 9 but Torries checks all the boxes,,,, a 10,,,, you see that they are all great just one comes out on the top....

Going to try to get out to the track Wednesday with the truck.... might be the only time because after that the track nights will be me and the Audi

So I am thinking about removing my hard tonneau cover, my Raptor Side Steps and possibly the tailgate..... Thoughts?

Oh and do I put my 305/50r20 Toyo Proxes on that I bought for summer driving or get a run in on my current 305/55r2 Nitto Grappler G2s and then go back later for a comparison.. problem is its starting to get into the warmer weather......

All weight reductions on our cinder block shaped trucks should be beneficial. From an aero perspective, I’ve suggested elsewhere to fold in your mirrors to achieve the most aerodynamic cinder block possible. The tailgate removal may help aero too…

Next time I’m at the track I’m folding my mirrors. I folded @Upshifter and he went slower 1/4 mile (cuz of heat soaking I think) but he had a slightly higher mph than he did on previous runs.

I think the raptor boards weight about 30/32lbs each and the tonneau about 61lbs.

The tailgate, I am seeing about 70/75 lbs.

All of this info is from the web, so not sure it's exact.... so roughly 200lbs

then make sure I am just under a 1/2 tank......

And the weather high for Wednesday is 70, so track time a good start and later in the evening, probably 55/65 degrees

We looking good.......

So, I was talking to a few buddies and some who raced in the NHRDA with very high HP diesel trucks, all suggest the tonneau cover on and tailgate off with the steps off..... quickly reminded that most of their race trucks has light weight covers on the bed,,,, aerodynamic thing,,,,,, Duh

all said and teased me over a few beers, dude, run what you daily,,,,, and reminded me all my times have been as the truck is.......

Well, dang! Lol

When I went to the track last I had no time to strip the truck down, so I ran full daily weight - 2 child seats, 70lb (super thick) rubber bed liner, tonneau cover, Cheerios on the floor, the whole shebang. And glad I did - as that's how it will be on the street, AND now I have a baseline for going back with some weight reduction.

@boostkingMatt was so funny, he was eager to help disassemble my truck right there in the pits - encouraging me to remove the steps, spare, tailgate, backseats, rearview mirror, anything & everything.... 🤣 His energy is refreshing.

Next time I go will be with repaired mainfolds. Then I'll go again with new tunes, and finally last trip of the season will be for all the glory with as much weight reduction as possible.

You’re going to gain a bunch just by fixing the manifolds. And you’ll gain more with a tune from Torrie. Spare tire removed, seats removed, smaller tires I bet you’d get a 12.90

Ahh yes the tires... wonder if one of those Wheel & Tire rental places has any by the hour offerings??

If I ever got into the 12s with this dad-mobile my head would explode.

A little maintenance today at 65k

Every 5k truck has had a oil change

More synthetic oil, filter,,,,,,,, cleaned COBB air cleaner....... Cleaned MAF Sensors

Also, keep having a turn signal light go out, passenger side top.... Ended up going LED too, so lets see if this cures the issue of about every 4-6 months the same bulb going out
