And I already took the side stickers off the bed........ Windows get tinted Wed next week...

Well

I have a new set of TOYO Proxes III ready to go one, but here is the dilemma...... I plan on towing my RV on two longer trips this year and I plan on a trip deep into Nevada with my car trailer/jeep in tow...... not sure if its the right move to replace the Nitto Terra Grapplers G2s with the TOYO..... pretty sure the Nitto are better suited to tow than the TOYO.......... Thoughts?

What's the size of the Proxes? Assuming its a standard p-metric, properly inflated p-metric tires still carry comfortably more weight than the truck's GVWR. More plies help you with puncture resistance (will you be pulling on any unpaved roads?) and sidewall squirm /stability, but assume your Proxes are so low-profile & premium that may not be much of an issue.

Well, went to the track and had two facilities to pick from.... went more inland towards sea leave and there was a dead on head wind 10-15 mph and the air density wasn't ideal,,, Ambient was mid 60's

Took my tonneau off and the raptor steps, had forgot how heavy those are

Anyways, typically this track I run a tad slower............ truck seemed to run well and the best time was a 12.58 with the head wind...... pulled a log for Tori and have some knock but it settles... so we will see what he says

Next week back to the faster track but hotter temps

Looks like Proxes III in that size actually are XL load range, and have more load carrying capacity than your OEM p-metrics (2,535 lbs @ 51 psi vs. 3,086 lbs @ 50 psi for the Proxes).

I see no reason not to tow anything with the Proxes that you would've towed stock, unless you are going off pavement.

They will be fine for sure. If anything they may wear a little faster with the extra weight.

Yup, it was mainly the dirt roads that are possible on a couple trips,,,,,, we will see

Will try to get to the track Wednesday, Torrie said the log looked great and after a few back and forth emails, he feels I need to leave a tad higher on the rpm,,,,, right now at 2500/2700 I am dead hooking, no spin and no hope,,,, I did lower the tire psi to 28 front 30 rear,,,,,, wants me to log next time out then go from there since I had that 10-15mph head win for the log I sent....

Decided a perfect morning, high 50's low 60's and still have the tonneau and steps off, to make another pass with no head wind..... Left with a tad more boost and here we are, personal best

Did a back up run, tried a tad more boost to launch, got a good front wheel hop, had to let off and start over,,,,,, I think I was heat soaked, because the fans came on, but did an other launch and it left good, less rpm and ran

12.28 with these 305/55r20's Ok beyond ecstatic and happy. Sent Torrie a log .....

I took mine off for some rust removal and like how it looks. My wife on the other hand... Well, let's just say she turns sideways and slides out. If you keep them off you'll want something to protect your rockers from everything coming off the tires.

Keep them off!! Street race trucks don’t have those!

I think all trucks look better without them.
And your truck was already looking pretty dang smokin.

Buuuut... those steps are so practical. If the Mrs. has no issues getting in/out w/o steps, and since you're not dealing with winter slush and salt, you might have it made to leave them off. (Or you may get/have to lower the truck!).

I never had steps on a truck until this one. Never noticed / minded the hop in, but always got comments from infrequent riders that it was a hike.

Agreed with all of you, looks so much better, but they are useful and they do offer protection from the rocks that get kicked up,,, So i will; need to decide I guess....
Keep them on! It deters the fatter and bigger catalytic converter thieves.
And helps shorter people get into the truck.

With little kids and older parents, the steps are now mandatory for me. Some of them still say too high, which is one reason why I ran/will continue running as close to stock height as possible.

So does lowering the truck a few inches. 😁
