It is a daily driver/tow vehicle for me. I tow either my 2015 Fiesta ST or my 2002 Elantra to the track for track days and endurance races. Came from a 2017 Colorado Duramax which was fun but extremely unreliable.

So far the truck has been fantastic and look forward to improving it little by little but keeping it reliable and somewhat quiet(no ridiculous NVH).

Welcome! Sounds like a quick and efficient ride!
The 2.7 is the best of all worlds.

Pics, or you drive a Prius though! :p
(Curious what a track-spec 02 Elantra entails, too!)

It would be a dream to get onto VIR for even 1 lap, I can't imagine a 12 hr enduro! Sounds like an incredible experience.

Its incredible. We arent the fastest thing out there in our class either. Its overwhelming at first then you settle in a start battling cars in your class when you can.

We are scheduled to compete in the August 24 Hour race at VIR with Champ Car. Hoping for another class win but it will be extremely hard.

One of my favorite intakes, I had the same intake on my 2015 3.5 and they didn't make the same style for the 19....... I think one of the best looking too,,,,,

Nice truck and welcome to the forum fellow booster... I am sure with the right launch and on e30-50 you will be mid 12s with 5 star

I am not so sure about the AEM intake. For the price i got it for it was a total steal but after logging the intake air temps its only as good as the flow through the front of the truck. At idle on a day hotter than 65F it will heat soak significantly more than the OE air box at idle or in traffic with no front airflow.

Logged the OE airbox with AFE Dry-Flow at idle for 15min and found it would be a max of 20F of ambient.

Logged the AEM the last few weeks and it seems it will go as high as 38F over ambient without any airflow.

Once the truck starts moving the AEM gets down to temp faster than the OE airbox. From 24-25mph and up the intake air temp sits between 5-7F of ambient.

Id love to do back to back testing on the intake air temp charge and the different types of aftermarket intake kits.

Similar Experience better flow at higher speed, but that is the case with any exposed filter intake set up, enclosed definitely has lower end/overall better characteristics!.
Ordered the VasFab front differential brace. Hoping to get it soon. Traction bars are on my scope of things to pick up next.

Replaced the vent badges with satin black from Badge King. Fitment was perfect.

Blacked out front and rear badges with some Etsy vinyl decals. They look ok. I didnt realize that they didnt black the chrome portion out. So on the lookout for a full satin/black badge set if anyone knows of any available.
Also installed the VAS Fab front diff brace. It went fine until i realized you cannot run the FX4 skid plate with his brace. So not happy with the product. Also, when tightening the stupid flag nuts that Ford uses to secure the skid plate broke. So i need to replace at least one. At this point, plan is to get new nuts and bolts from Ford, remove the brace and reinstall the skid plate. Going to let VAS Fab know the brace does not work with FX4 and higher models. Very bummed.

VAS fab knows about the skid plate interference. They designed it to do what it does and it does it well.

You have modified the truck with that brace. You can modify the skid plate to work with the modification. :)

Truck looks great

Why not disclose that it wont allow the refitment of the FX4 skid plates on the website?

For me, i want to keep the FX4 skid plate without modifying it. So ill be getting rid of the VAS Fab piece and going with the Bwoody piece which tucks up and bolts to the vertical portion of the crossmember.
Seems you have found the solutions. :)

Don't you have to slightly modify the crossmember though?
I believe you do need to drill two holes for the backing bracket with the nuts welded to it.
Bwoody front diff brace ordered. Also picking up new nuts/bolts for the factory skid plate to replace the broken "u" nuts.
