Have a few questions for y’all. New truck - 23 3.5 platinum.

oil changes - I used to do at 3k on my 14, any reason to think of changing that interval on the newer one? Asking cause I did 3k due to the fuel dilution, wondering if it’s still that big of an issue on the newer ones.

Anything special/unique on the newer ones when changing the oil? Only 700 miles so I haven’t dove into it yet.

Is there a best practice on timing for the first oil change? 1-2-3k miles? Switching the oil to Mobile 1.

And lastly, I’m attaching a pic of the underneath. There is no protection on any kind short of just under the engine. I expected to see a carbon fiber cover over the drain plug and trans area but nothing there. Wondering if it should have came with one as I’d like to contact the dealer if so. Also thought of a tranny type skid plate as I had a RCI metal works one on my old 14 - open to recommendations.

Thanks

I dumped the factory oil at 500 miles, then again at 1500 and 5k. Went with Valvoline Advanced Syn and a Fram Titanium from Advanced on the first change, then Pennzoil Ultra Plat and a Fram Titanium on the second. Third change will be in 5k with Pennzoil Plat Euro L and a Fram Titanium. Once I settle in on what it seems to prefer I'll stick with it and change every 5k. Just curious, is your transmission making any whining noises? It's a common thing with our transmissions, just curious if you have noticed it or not.

I think they all whine. But most are reasonable. Some are very objectionable and out of tolerance, in my opinion.

Both of my personal use Powerboost have been very reasonably quiet. Nothing alarming once I got used to the unique sounds of an off-ICE truck running various systems on electricity. The electric brake system is the most obvious.

It really helped once I disabled the fake noise maker. (pedestrian alert)
That thing was providing the vast majority of what I felt was objectionable noises.
