I have a 2018 2wd. I'm trying to get an idea of what lift/tires options I have out there. Along with what they actually look like. Can you post pics of your 2wd and what lift you have and what size tires?
Leveled or lifted 2wd make as much or more sense than a lifted road use only 4wd. Larger tires and long travel suspension have a long history in off road racing.
I do a bunch of trail driving on forest service trails and roads ,. I also appreciate a good suspension that is steady and responsive at highway speed. Used to compete in sport-car slalom events.
A level is a lift is a ride height increase so I'm not picky about labeling. I went with a minimal for now, front ride height increase of 1 3/4 inches 0 at the rear via an Icon Stage 1 suspension leaving room for future changes intending to lengthen wheel travel and shock control. I wanted lots of tire clearance so that limited the sizing. Currently XD 17-8, 0 off-set wheels and Nitto Terra Grappler G2's 265-70-17,
The front is set to minimum height with plenty room to go up the rear is more a concern as I prefer to use a higher arched softer spring than current over just a set of blocks. UCA's and external reservoirs with adjustable valving potential next steps and an increase to 285-70/75-17. Might well end with 1+ raise in back and 2 3/4 in front. KM

Those are not the only off road classes. Pre-runner suspensions and classes have been around a long time and a similar class competes at Crandon WI regularly.
And as you mentioned they are not, 2wd Trophy Truck. KM

Does it matter if you have a 2wd vs 4 wd in terms of what lift and tires you can put on a truck?
Sorry OP for this thread getting derailed. Who cares if it's 2wd. Do what makes you happy. Just dont get a false sense of confidence and get stuck. I have bfg all terains 90% for looks. (although they came in handy in the snow recently). But do a little research on this forum and other f150 forums. Lotta build write-ups with good details.
