so now that I have a good daily driver I am free to go crazy with my 2016. I have just about maxed out the bolt ons but I am running stock internals at 150k miles. the 16 is my forever project truck and I know that sooner or later I will be pulling that engine. I just built a shop behind my house with that purpose in mind. hopefully it's a couple years down the road but I was looking at blocks and heads and thinking to myself that I should consider a 5.0 with a supercharger or twins like the ecoboost. this is all a dream at this point but it took me down a rabbit hole none the less.
dyno numbers for a force inducted 5.0 seem to create more hp than torque, but the modded 3.5s are putting out more torque than hp. if I am not mistaken the 5.0s still have variable timing, why would the smaller engine with less displacement, and displacement per cylinder, be better at making torque numbers?
also, being that the 2017 3.5 was a new gen engine with port injection, can I use 2017 (gen 3?) heads on my 2017 and tune for that on a 2016 ecu to get the benefits of increased fuel delivery and valve cleaning?
just stuff I am curious about and figured you guys might have thoughts on, if I don't win the lottery anytime soon I should have plenty of time for more research and changing my mind at least a couple more times before its time to make a move.
