It's actually beautiful.
But it co$t a small fraction of what I would have expected for a 400 cell cat.

How is that possible?

I think for the next one, I'll center it with a couple pie cuts. Call it an inspired idea 🤣

@boostkingMatt these are designed to mate up with my flanges 😉. But I suppose I could modify a downpipe of any type.
Heck yeah. I’d seriously like to see how yours goes and what it sounds like. I want to see if the 2.7 will sound like a Nissan GTR as well.

Upcycled a Honda halfshaft into a flaring tool. The process needs some refinement to be sure, but it moves 304 like it's not even there. I think the biggest issue is my crappy HF saw not cutting straight 🤣.

The Vibrant 90° elbow wasn't polished like I was hoping, so I guess I need to do that as well, so it discolors evenly with the rest.

I need some pictures of firsthand experience here... The loop is 9" across, so I'm trying to figure out the bast way to clock it. Since I won't take my truck apart until everything is ready to go on, I can't fit it to my truck at this time. How much room does one have around say an AMS or FullRace downpipe? I can free up a couple inches with the tiny cats but I don't know if it'll be enough.

What does the loop look like now?

Same as what I have pictured, I just need to find a good position to put it before I weld it all together.
Ok checked it out sorry lol, what if you take a 1/2” out of the throat of each elbow to shrink it in size or would that effect the equal length that your trying to do?

Pipe expander and air-over-hydraulic pump came in. The manual pump doesn't move stainless that well, and I don't have the fittings handy to make the connection, but at least I have it all 🤣

Next up is the polishing progress: this is after 600 grit

And this one is after 1500 grit.

Tomorrow I'll hit it on the buffer and see how it shines up from here.

To get a pretty good shine you could have stayed at 600 or go up to 800 grit. Remember to use green buffing compound for stainless

Ordered gaskets from 5*, along with the rest of the tubing. Once that all gets here, I have 2 weeks to get the pipes installed and figure out the Y pipe.

The Vibrant 90 shined up pretty good with whatever was left on my wheel.

Drivers side started as a result. This is the easy side, mind you.

And welded the loop up. It's not attached and the long end is just tacked as well, because I still need to figure out the merge.

I was stressing trying to figure out how to connect the air-hyd unit to the ram.... Then I remembered that I knew how to use a lathe 😁. This started as a 3/8 ORF with an OD that was too large, so I turned it down and cut new threads... Considering what I'm working with, this turned out pretty good.

The craziest thing just last week I was watching a video of F1 V12‘s sounds from the 1980’s- 1990’s and that sound comes from equal length perfect headers , it made me think if it was possible to generate a better sound after the turbos by building crazy long length down pipes and exhaust ,which split into a 2-8 -2
hopefully by splitting the exhaust from 2 pipes which are 3 or 31/2 inch pipes down to smaller diameter 11/2 inch pipes which are not really equal length ,but built in a way that fakes how equal length pipes act allowing the gases to hit the collector in a firing order giving it that roaring sound..
I know this may just turn it into a terrible sound while causing droning at different RPMS , but u less you experiment you never know..I tried looking around the Internet and couldn’t find anything close to it being done before,, maybe there’s a reason,lol..
