New to the forum and ive been reading yes and no for towing a gooseneck with a 5'5 box

How do I know if I have max tow? ( wifes truck) 2013 4x4 4 door 3.55 I think.

I wanna tow a 25' goose neck with 10k axles. Max weight will be probably 8k

I believe max tow is only on the trucks with 3.73 gears plus the package. Don't think it was available in 3.55. You are good as far as weight goes. 3.55is rated to 9800lbs. Not sure about the gooseneck part though. Never delt with one.

I'm not even sure she has 3.55. I saw a faded tag on the rear that had 3x55

There is an axle code on the door sticker. If you call a dealer they can tell you what ratio you have if there is no cross reference on the net somewhere.

It's doable - quite a few ppl around here pull GN horse trailers / flat beds.
You can't have a full size tool box either. Also I think B & W is the only one who makes a GN hitch for the F150 5.5 box.

Made my own horseshoe type box works well

Only reason I didn't put a GN in my truck was the fact of having 2" to spare between the GN ball and my tool box. That was too close for my liking
