my ac compressor is whining like crazy with no ac and engine fans on high when ac is put on or even defrost since i know it uses compressor .

what am i looking at for repair

Depends on what's wrong with it.
I'd take it to a couple of reputable shops and have them look at it and see if their info matches up. Then have it fixed.

ended up being the whole compressor was bad. got it replaced under my ESP for deductible

of course !! i cant stand when theres a question it gets fixed and no one comes back to respond !
