So the better half can charge her cell phone while you are shopping... Unplug if you are worried about battery drain.

I have a Wagan 400W inverter plugged into my rear console outlet. It's always on. I use it for cell charging and the AC for my laptop. I had a Tacoma years ago that was tied to the ignition and used a jumper to bypass it b/c that was a PITA that the key had to be in the ignition while I ran into a customer's office just so my phone would charge.

A related question for everyone, is that I need a new inverter and was considering a 700W or 1000W upgrade. They don't tie into outlets at that size. So, I actually was considering a home run to the battery for it. Just wondering if anyone has done something similar and utilized and inline switch to be able to turn it off when not needed.

Same, I have a radar detector plugged into the one next to the MFT display. No need to that one, the 110 volt, and the AC adapter in the rear of the center console all to be 'hot'. And I just noticed the other AC adapter inside the center console the other day. So in all, I have 3 AC plugs, a 110 plug, and 2 USB plugs...why can't ONE of them not be wired to the battery so its always on.

Maybe someone wants to experiment and come up with a 'how-to' on rewiring the port next to the display so its tripped by the ignition?
