The level and launching isn't a problem but cracking the front diff is. I saw a guy that cracked his doing a tug of war. I did a boosted 4wd launch in the rain and spun all 4 wheels but I wouldn't try it on dry black top unless you beefed up some of your drivetrain.
Boosted 4HI Launches & Leveling Kits
What are your thoughts?
I have heard that typically these two dont go well together.
I am installing a 2" leveling kit and putting some 275/65/R18 Toyo MT's on this weekend and am wondering if I will be at higher risk of damaging the front suspension by doing boosted launches in 4-HI. Im not planning on drag racing the truck every weekend but would like to feel assured that an occasional boosted launch will not leave me stranded on the side of the road.
If a leveling kit causes higher risk of damage at 4-HI, will it also increase the risk on a 2-wheel drive launch aswell?
Looking forward to hearing what yall have to say.

I've had 2 Ecoboost both with 2" leveling kits, one of them had 33's the other had factory tires. I've done hundreds of boost launches in each of them. Did it every day pretty much. Never had a problem one. But that's not to say you won't.
I'm leveled and on 33" and my power steering cuts out 9 times outta 10 that I do a 4WD boosted launch. I have to restart her to get the power steering to work agian. Probably done about 20-30 total 4WD boosted launches. It launches really well in 4wd by just stomping on it so tend to do that and don't have problems with the steering. I think it has to do with torque steer amplified by the CV joint angles overloading the EPAS system.
I have a feeling this might be from the install rather than the level itself, I told the shop that did it to make sure to unplug the EPAS when doing the install but I'm not sure they did. Either way I don't really like to do boosted launches anyways for fear of breaking something, and the steering has never cut out during normal driving, so I don't worry too much about it.

I've done at least 80+ boosted launches since my level, most on the street and at least 15 at the track, haven't had an issue one....
Wish I was as lucky as you guys. Must be they messed up my EPAS.

The EPAS is a very weak link in this truck very easy to damage it.

Truck is a truck. If you want to go fast in a hurry grab the gas on something with 2 wheels and 1200+ cc. That's all the fun you can stand I promise.
