So my wife told me that my trucks brakes were squeeling real bad first thing in the morning when backing out of the driveway. Ordered new oem rotors and pads and had a buddy of mine swap them out for me. Looks like somewhere in its life, someone just slapped pads on it and didn’t change the corroded rotors. I am noticing that the wear in the rotor makes it look like the pad isn’t making full contact with it, is this normal? These are the fronts, he said he is going to do the rears tomorrow

Wow. It looks like where you live metal corrodes faster then brake pads.
I’ve never seen ware pattern like that. I’d check those calipers closely that they will function ok. Mostly check that the sliding tabs are on a smooth surface also.

We used to “install” those fishing poles in the rear window gun rack, when we went fishing.

No this truck has been in idaho it’s whole life until about a year ago when we moved to SC. The truck itself doesn’t have any rust or corrosion, just the brakes. They do have 150k miles on them. I got the oem pads and rotors and the pads came with instructions and everything so hopefully my buddy put them back in the correct way. He’s very mechanically inclined like me so I’m sure he’s fine

I believe this could be the answer. Those tabs at the top of the pad backing plate have been on the wrong side of the caliper.

Ya, I’ve never done the brakes on it, the pads have had to of been replaced at some point but I’m pretty sure whoever did it, just did the pads and not the rotors judging by the corrosion and wear

Ah and inevitably this happened. Luckily I knew the oem lug nuts are trash and had ordered new ones for him to put back on

Mine were doing the same and it turned out to be a problem with the parking brake. The mechanic did something and now it doesn’t squeal.
