I have been thinking about getting a brush guard for my 2018 f150. I live in deer country and one of my biggest concerns with my truck is hitting one on my way to work in the morning. I was wondering if anyone has any experience in the actual durability of the brush guards for these trucks. I don't really care about the looks as long as it's black. I would prefer not to buy the most expensive on the market but at same time I want something that is functional.

Brush guards can actually make things worse. Most aren't bolted to anything up high, and will fairly easily bend back and get into the hood, grille, and quarter panels if you take a strike that otherwise would have been primarily absorbed by the bumpers.

My fire district is deer country, so I spend a lot of time running in that area. I went with a Fab Fours front end replacement, which gives me real protection... at a very real price. Also, substantial additional lighting for the backroads.
