No. Just happened again when I parked, remotely locked it, drove down the street in my brother's car and the alarm was going off on its own. ALSO, sometimes when I remotely start it, I will hop in and the engine kills on its own. Remote started it today and my dad shut the tail gate and the engine killed... I think it's haunted!! Jk... Its gotta be from when the dealership installed the remote start. Going to take it in tomorrow and see if they can look at it.
I used to be an auto electronics installer and it sounds like your hood pin is out of alignment. It may need some adjustment or replaced. Auto starts will kill if the hood is opened for safety, so if you jumping in or slamming a tailgate kills it then its too sensitive and needs adjustment. I would bet my truck payment on it lol

Well, I had an aftermarket hood with functional hood scoop installed... Is that something I can adjust on my own?
Yes, you will need to find the hood pin tied to the alarm under your hood, should look like a small plunger with a wire plug on one end that is made to come into contact with the hood when closed, and then open when open. You may have to place some chalk on it and try closing the hood to see if it is still making contact with your new hood, and then make an adjustment to it. Sometimes they are threaded and you just need to lengthen the travel and retest until you get it right. Aftermarket hoods are often very different underneath and it may even require you to move it to make it work. I will PM some pics of the sensor after I leave the movies so you have an idea what your looking for.

YOU ROCK!! What movie!? I just saw grudge match yesterday and that was an awesome movie!
Saw walter mitty and it was ok, recommend waiting for redbox or netflix.

Anyway back to the truck..
Here are two pictures, the first picture you will see the little christmas tree looking hood pin and mount to the fender lip.

The second photo is on the underside of the hood, and the hood pin makes contact with the hood blanket as seen be the small dimple in the photo. If you have an aftermarket hood they may not have placed your blanket on it leaving the tolerance of the pin even less causing your problems.

It doesn't look very adjustable however you an try some washers or shims, or take it to a car alarm shop and have them put an adjustable one in for you for probably $50 or less and that shod eliminate your issues.

You should be a doctor! I threw two washers under the bracket that holds the christmas tree switch, used the chalk from home depot to verify, even bent the thin bracket just enough to pitch up... And MY REMOTE START WORKS AS ADVERTISED!!!! Final test will be at 0800 when the alarm has been going off. If it goes off again, I will be happy to hand it over to the dealership in Reno, NV to take a look at it.
Glad I could help, it should solve your early morning issue. That is about the time the sun is on your truck and the metal expands or contracts just enough to set that pin off....
