So how many people on here have had the coolant leak at the quick disconnect where it mounts to the coolant tank, mine started leaking and its a poor design,I googled it and seen it has been a issue on the 5.0 motors also.the 3.5 and 5.0 use same coolant tank that has lower air box made to it,guys have replaced the hose and it will still leak,no o ring on hose and bushing in it it.if you have had this issue what did you do to fix it. Thanks for your time

Pray you have warranty...

That coolant tank/lower air box is $$$$$$, for what it is.

I cut the plastic quick connect off the hose and ordered a 1"x3/4" silocone 90* elbow and its highet temp coolant hose, and ordered a aluminum 3/4" joiner and good solid hose clamps, fixed the other day and no leaks worked great and way better than the stock quick connect,if anyone needs part #s for the parts hit me up

Mine started leaking "luckily" right in front of the mechanic at the Ford dealer, literally. They replaced it under warranty too. The hose would've been about $80 plus install. He showed me where the gasket fails on the end that plugs into the tank. The new hose had a slightly different gasket design, a little thicker.

Sounds like you got yours covered though...

Your solution looks best. There is nothing wrong with using RTV to seal a hose. Upon a quick search, it looks like only 2011 5.0/ecoboost guys are having problems. One found a crack in the tank itself.

I still need to look at mine.

Well bringing this back, was just under the hood today giving the truck a once over and noticed my coolant reservoir was about an inch low. Followed lower connection and Its leaking at that 90. Well I'll be mentioning this to the dealer in the morning when I drop my truck off for the Phaser TSB.

The tank and hose has to be replaced to make it stop leaking or buy the parts I bought to fit it and make it never leak again

Improved metal clips for coolant tank hose

I made video to show the part number for improved retaining clip which is metal not cheap plastic like stock one. Dorman part number: 800-807 will get you several of the metal 1 inch retaining clips. They are priced around $24.00 at O'Reilly's,
