Does anyone else's truck not shift good once in manual mode shifting with the gear selector . It almost act like there's too much of a time delay when using it therefor causing a rough shift when doing it manually. Also what is the Tow/haul button for if you don't tow anything? does it change the differential anyway

yes the shifts are very delayed when using manual shift.
the tow haul mode does offer a slightly different shift pattern and holds gears longer to prevent gear hunting.
it also downshifts while braking.

Tow & haul is also good for when you want to control your speed on hills. I find that once I've braked to a speed I want going down hill the tow & haul will change gears and keep the truck at or near that desired speed.
One thing you never want to do though is use tow & haul when in 2 wheel drive and it is slippery. Made that mistake once and only once. Tow & haul can cause your back wheels to lock up in snow.
