Has anyone had this issue? It's starting to get worse now with the warmer weather.

It smells really bad like a burnt circuit board or something along that line. It can not be good.
I noticed it about 3-4 weeks ago And it's more noticeable when I do the remote start.
I'm just wondering if anyone found what this issue is yet.
Thanks

Sorry - never encountered it. If you leave it on recirc and start it, is it better or worse?

I've been smelling something similar for the last few months. I've been trying to pay attention to the weather conditions and whether or not the smell is gone if I drive 5 minutes or more before turning on the blower. So far it seems to be most noticeable in the morning at the first startup. It's hard to describe the smell but to me it's like a mix of electrical burning smell and overheated brakes. I can't find any leaks anywhere or anything obvious for the source of the smell. I'm not inclined to let the dealer have it for a few days to poke around and maybe find nothing. I've been debating whether or not I want to dump some disinfectant down the cowl where the rain naturally goes to see if that would help (assuming there's something down there growing/moldy, etc). I don't really see any harm in that. It would drain out the same way the rain would.

Remove and examine blower motor? Maybe it needs some lube?

I use to get that smell once in awhile too. It seems I got it more when I would flash my pickup with a new tune. I asked a tuner one time and he said to not worry about it. As far as to what exactly it was though, I have no clue.

Sorry to drag this back, just wondering if anyone figured out what the smell is? I just started getting this same smell at startup.

I have same issue a while back! It's the evaporator coil. I believe its not draining properly and gets a mildew on it and smells of cross between cow manure and hot electric like smell. Dealer did a cleaning on it once and went away but is kinda back 3 months later. I was told to run the fan over it after I turn the ac- heat off. What a bunch of bull ****.

That is hard for me to believe because this smell is such a strong electronics burning smell. But, if that's what they say! I also found another person on another forum that said it is the blower resistor. I am going to look at how hard that is to get out and take a look at. They said theirs stunk and looked burnt but the blower still seemed to work fine. May be worth taking apart and checking it out.

Hey, folks! Let me know how many miles are on your trucks currently; I'm always happy to do what I can to help out. If you haven't already, I'd recommend making an appointment at your dealership so they can get this documented and diagnosed.

Try this. Turn the key to the on position (don't start the truck). Turn blower speed to 1 or 2. Do you experience the smell with engine off. Do you have this concern after an over night soak. It's possible the ac evaporator is leaking.

Having this same issue with my 2013 F 150 Platinum. Strong smell at S/U that dissipates after a bit. After reading the post I looked for my condensate drain and what I saw looks like a stub without a drain hose, on the right side firewall. It drips down into the heat shielding and runs down. I will be watching this thread. My Platinum has a little over 48000 miles on it.
